  1. 1. Viva La Vida (Death and all His Friends) 2. Mylo Xyloto 3. A Rush of Blood to the Head 4. Parachutes 5. X&Y Top three are all masterpieces and I shall now consider Coldplay's trifecta of AWESOME. Viva La Vida: Gritty, universal Mylo Xyloto: Fall/Winter, Poppy but experimental, personal story A Rush of Blood to the Head: Romantic, Spring/Summer, a mix of grittyness and poppyness.
  2. Major U2 vibes, but unlike U2, I LOVED THIS.
  3. Give me a few days. I may be in this club.
  4. Second best Coldplay album. Mylo Xyloto: Dear lord it's pretty. Harkens back to LiT. Hurts Like Heaven: I love the production on this. Love the guitar. Favorite song on the album. Paradise: Good, but one of the worst songs here. Charlie Brown: Great song, but I don't really think it will have a lasting impact on Coldplay's career. Us Against the World: Didn't like it live, now it's probably one of the best songs on the album. Love the part where the e. guitar and organ come in as Chris sings "slow it down". MMIX: Eh. Could have been a tad more inventive than this. Every Teardrop is a Waterfall: Worst song on here, overproduced, annoying, just plain bad. Major Minus: 3rd favorite song on the album, amazing guitar from Johnny, love the effects on Chris's voice. U.F.O: Good, but, again, NOT AMAZING. I thought it'd be better. It's no Faust Arp or Don't Panic. Princess of China: Weirdest song on here, for me. I like it, and it's definitely different, not just because of Rihanna, but the production is strange. Will take awhile to digest. Up In Flames: Boooorrrriiiiiinnngggg. A Hopeful Transmission: Very pretty, best interlude on the disc. Don't Let it Break Your Heart: 2nd favorite. Just plain amazing. If it was just a tad longer it'd beat Hurts Like Heaven by a mile. Up With the Birds: Haven't had enough time to judge this one. The few times I've heard it, I've liked it, but it hasn't clicked yet. Right now I'm giving this a 9.5/10. Viva got a 10, AROBTH got a 9, X&Y a 6, and Parachutes a 9. It's forward thinking pop music, with enough hooks to catch quite a haul of fish.
  5. Honestly, I think it could have fit in-between Up in Flames and A Hopeful Transmission. Would have made the album have an even 12 non-instrumental tracks, too.
  6. Wish it was longer, but other than that, it's amazing.
  7. Major Minus: 10/10 Paradise: 9/10 Princess of China: 8.5/10 (will be 9 with higher quality) Moving to Mars: 8/10 ETIAW: 7.5/10 ^That's of studio versions only.
  8. X&Y was so bad, imo. I hate Fix You with a burning passion.
  9. Yeah I wondered if people would get confused.
  10. Honestly, MX will be the third best era of Coldplay. Which means top tier. 1. VIVA 2. AROBTTH 3. MX 4. PARA 5. X&Y
  11. It won't have the magic that the first one had. :\
  12. Dear lord you're an idiot. Nice trolling there.
  13. Yeah I love Phoenix, this new Coldplay sound reminds me of them A LOT actually.
  14. Lets just ignore that half of these new songs feature great solos from Jonny, great bass and drums. And on Viva, lets forget everything BUT Viva La Vida. Calling you on your **** right now.
  15. Coldplay is alternative, and pop. Some songs are alternative, some pop. Fix You, Viva La Vida = Pop Daylight, Yes = Alternative. For example.
  16. Indie pop does exist. It makes little sense, but it does. Indie pop is like Phoenix, The Flaming Lips. Stuff like that. EDIT: Broken Social Scene and Arcade Fire are other good examples.
  17. When will people realize that Coldplay hasn't made a really POP song this era? Seriously, no sing along able choruses, weirder structures than most pop songs, lots of weird touches (thanks to Eno).
  18. This song can't be a single. It's too weird, imo. It's really good, but it's just like, for most people, it'll be like: "WTF IS THIS?" in a mystified kind of way. It's a very strange little song.
  19. Of course the Coldplay fans would get angry about this song. Calm down. Without Rihanna this song would be way worse. It's very good. And this is coming from the indie music loving, Radiohead ass-kissing guy that is me.
  20. This song is a lot better than Lhuna. Really ****ing good. I like it. Their voices go WELL together, it's strange.
