Up In Flames

IMO Up in Flames is the most underrated song with only around 100,000 views from the official Coldplay YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cV-uRca3XFQ

If you think about it, it appears to be so! 1. UIF has a stripped-back production and arrangement, which is characteristic of nearly all songs on GS 2. UIF is led by electronic drums, a first in Coldplay songs. Many songs on GS also use electronic drums. 3. The lyrics of UIF can be interpreted to be a narrator's reflection right after a breakup ("So it's over....") 4. UIF was the last song to be recorded for MX. So what do you guys think?

Here in Italy has been reported (via my website Coldplayzone.it but via EMI Italy too) that Up In Flames will be the brand new (the seventh in total) single taken from Mylo Xyloto. It will be on air from tomorrow and probably will be released as it is on Live 2012 DVD, so that version will be on air on the radios. I personally think Hurts Like Heaven will be OFFICIALLY RELEASED on November, 19th, while the Up In Flames IMPACTING RADIO date will be tomorrow, waiting for the official proper single release.

I mean seriously what was that....a song? kids in kindergarten make better songs lol. Now lets throw away the jokes ,what happened ,why did they chose such a shallow song ,remember the viva la vida era when they ditched bloodless revolution,i think they did something like this again and chose mediocre songs to not risk losing the "Big Audience" instead of putting some good, creative ,soulful songs....i rated this song with a strong 1 and i think i wont change my opinion even after hearing the album version! Anyone agrees?

Has anybody noticed the accords? It is very similar ;) "But I'm nothing on my own, gotta get that message home" -> Check the melody of this part , its almost the same. I am not criticizing, I love all Coldplay songs, I just ask if anybody has noticed that.

The song was playing during the last episode (taylor and caroline scene). I guess now it will be on the soundtrack of season 3.

So, that may be the reason this song was, imo, less than stellar live: the percussion is supposed to be MA like on the album. Which makes me think of Teardrop, which makes me think: AWESOME! :D

Up In Flames was written in the spur of a moment situation just a matter of weeks ago, and now the album is being finalized. Clocks was also one of these spur of the moment songs, and it ended up being arguable their best hit (behind Viva of course). Would you say Up In Flames could be this song? Chris Martin and Co. seem to be pretty excited about it in particular, and obviously Phil does too! Even though we haven't heard it, what would you think?

Kill me if I'm wring or if you disagree, but is this song really bass-heavy, as reported when we first heard of the song? Guy joins in late in the song, so ...
