  1. even though i got my ticket through a third party, it wasn't fake--thankfully! i feel so badly for all of you that were taken advantage of! What a disappointment it must have been to find out they were fake. I wish there was some way for all of you to get your money back. It's horrible that there are people out there without honor and integrity :(
  2. That's so sad about the death of one of the Beastie Boys. i still remember how much of a stir "You gotta fight (for your right)" caused back in the 80's (when i was a teenager). Here's me wishing i could have been there to hear Coldplay's cover/tribute.
  3. that confetti is SOOOO much FUN!!!!!!! I loved feeling it and seeing it rain down on me in Seattle!!! Wish i could be at the HB tonight! Coldplay's concerts are wicked!!!
  4. Mrman78, great pics! you must not have been too far away from me at the concert. i was the last chair, row 4 on the floor next to a lot of open space and then the seats climbing walls were there. were you in one of those side seats?
  5. HB Pics of Guy? these are all great pics everyone's been taking at the HB concerts, but has anyone taken any pics of Guy? He's my favorite and i'd love to see pics of him playing. i was at the Seattle concert but didn't get tickets for his side of the stage so didn't get any great shots of him.
  6. KeyArena-Awesome! I was at the concert last night. Tho I was put out that I didn't get the side I wanted, it was worth the extra money to BD on the floor, row 4. All that confetti was brilliant!! The songs were excellent and I was so glad they played Lovers In Japan-one of my favorite! I personally enjoyed Princess of China. No different then when they've performed Lost! With just Jay-Z on a TV screen. Major Minus was excellent as always, In My Place- spectacular, Fix You- lovely, Yellow- wicked, God Put a Smile on Your Face--high voltage!, Violet Hill- just as good or better than the video. Anyway, what I was surprised by was all the people younger than me filling the rows in front of me but not singing, screaming or dancing! Coldplay love it when we sing at the top of our lungs, scream and yell our enthusiasm, and dance---it shows them how much their much means to us, what a huge, positive impact it has on us!!! I'm so glad I flew down from Alaska to see it!! So worth the money!! I hope they put out another album and tour again so I can see them again!! I got some pics and videos but none I would feel comfortable putting up. So I'll say Thank You to all of you who have shared your great pictures and videos. It's funny to be able to spot myself in some of them!!
  7. My fave today! Crests of Waves. think i've listened to it close to 30 times today... otherwise...Major Minus (Glastonbury live)!
  8. I am.. re-introducing myself. Hello...Everyone! I'm Melissa--and still fairly new to this website. i don't usually do things like this but i have a blog at Wordpress called Mellynnwrites and have started blogging on topics such as Coldplay (for one), tattoos (and people's reactions to them), my novel and future ideas for the second and third ones, short stories, travel, and TV and movies. At this point i am very curious about people's reaction to tattoos (the blog is titled "Something disturbing...." and as i'm from the US and have traveled but only to limited countries, i am interested in opinions/thoughts from all over the world. :wink3: As i LOVE Coldplay, and this is a huge website, i thought i could maybe post this here and get some responses. if you visit me at Mellynnwrites.wordpress.com, i'll be very grateful, if not, that's ok :D we're all still Coldplay fans, right?!:D
  9. oh, they switched sometimes? that'd be awesome :) and row 4 on the floor is definitely close (close enough to catch the paper butterflies--or whatever they are--i hope)! i hope they're still doing the wristbands in April too :D thanks, MrMan78, for giving me the bright side of things
  10. Please Help! ok, so i got my ticket and it's authentic, as far as i can tell, purchased through TicketMaster by a broker during the pre-sale and then sent to me. the problem is, i specifically paid for a ticket on the AA side of the stage (yes, to be close to my favorite band member) and in one of the first few rows. i got row 4 (that's pretty close) but on the BB side of the stage! i am livid! i called the broker, PRESTIGE ENTERTAINMENT, but they said in their terms and conditions they can supply a ticket comparable to the one purchased (or upgrade it). Does anyone actually think that if someone specifically asks for AA side and gets BB side that that's comparable??!! i don't obviously. i do feel like i've been scammed. i mean, what's the point of asking for AA if they're going to give me BB instead?! Uggg, i'm so frustrated! Anyway, my question for help is, does anyone have any ideas as to what i can do? (other than a lawsuit i probably wouldn't win since their terms and conditions say "comparable" and to them that means mirror image.) Prestige Entertainment (out of CT here in the States) won't even give me a partial refund for not fulfilling my promised order. right now i am thinking that if there is anyone like me who got front row seats, but the wrong side and maybe wants to trade then let me know. if anyone has any other ideas as to what kind of action i can take please let me know. i wish i had known more about purchasing concert tickets and how the whole thing works....so, any help/suggestions given would be appreciated. and BTW, DON"T go through official-online-tickets.com or PRESTIGE ENTERTAINMENT to get tickets.
  11. assuming i didn't get scammed (as one person pointed out might have happened), my ticket is on its way via FedEx, purchased it on the 10th (two days before AMEX presale: somehow i just don't think that's fair to do a presale for people with AMEX cards and leave the rest of us with the seats farther back and not as good which is why i purchased my ticket two days early--not realizing it was a secondary seller) and it's between rows 1-10 on the floor, AA side. i have to be on Guy's side or i just won't go... **just re-read your question and i didn't get mine VIA the presale but rather BEFORE the presale. here's to hoping the people i went through are trustworthy and i'll be at the concert as planned :) i'd hate to fly 3 hours down to Seattle and then not be able to attend. Is there any way to make sure my ticket is authentic? it didn't ship till 5 days after the AMEX presale started and should be here by this Tuesday.
  12. i absolutely LOVE this song! Major Minus is my favorite from the MX album but i have to say i love it best when it was performed live at Glastonbury! Guy really gets his groove on during the euphoric/hypnotic part just before Jonny's guitar solo. i can't watch Guy play that part enough lol! this song reminds me of jimi hendrix. after i heard Major Minus and realized who it reminded me of, i downloaded JH's "All Along the Watchtower". i hope their live performance is as good when they visit Seattle!! :wink3:
  13. and old enough to have an 8 year old daughter who said, "that guy looks like Dad," when she saw a picture of Guy i was looking at lol!
  14. older, it seems, than most who have replied to this thread :o
  15. thanks for the welcome :) so addictive that i literally have to pull myself away from my computer and make myself think about something else (and do other things); it's a bit overwhelming for me actually with all the people and posts, etc. i would like to know how to post a new thread. i'd love to know how many people on here are from Ireland, Scotland, Australia, England, Wales, and the US. i'm especially interested in "friending" people on this forum that are Irish, Scottish, and/or from the US....:) you say getting around on this forum is pretty easy but it seems kind of difficult for me but them i'm technologically awkward lol, so any help would be appreciated (see the question about posting a new thread). only one band member for me. only Guy grabs my attention ;) but chris is pretty funny when he does interviews. i think my favorite interview so far (with the entire band) is the 2008 Rove (australian) interview. it cracked me up. especially when they start talking about getting the concerts so good that people are desperate to pee and so when the band would go off stage everyone would run to the toilets and so when the band comes back on stage for the encore the arena/stadium would be empty ahahahaha. don't envy me too much for living in AK. the place i live i've been for 9 years and it rains more than any place i've ever lived (South East AK is a rain forest tho). when the sun does finally come out tho it is beautiful!! thanks again SupermassiveCPnerd for the welcome :)
  16. topless? i surely hope they haven't gone that mainstream (or Duran Duran; does anyone remember the "Girls on Film" video by DD? i hated it for the way DD objectified the women :( ) Anyway, i'm glad to hear that many of you are saying it might all be BS because i was completely outraged to hear that they were going to pay women to get topless! forget about the whole X-Factor thing (and the band supposedly selling out that way); i'd think they'd be selling out by actually having topless girls in the video (not to mention what that would say about them as a band with regard to how they think of women). i've really liked that their music has always been sensitive and original and music i can relate to and that their videos have been a reflection of what i've perceived to be a distinct respect for women and love and happiness (and how love can almost destroy us when it goes away). anyway, i just love watching the videos of the guys of the band all playing their instruments and really getting into their music; to watch them makes my heart feel full and happy :D (to listen to their music does the same.).....Somehow seeing them without their shirts on in a video would make me feel like a peeping tom. i love seeing them fully clothed in the videos----leaves something to the imagination ;) and allows me to focus on the music and the video itself. if they didn't have their shirts on, i think i would be slack-jawed the entire video and speechless lol:o if i get a little intense with my opinions, i apologize. i'm just an emotional- first, think- second kind of artist and can be rather too intense for some people, some of the time...:\
  17. JackColdplay: is that a statement or a question? turns out i purchased through a secondary seller. hope they are honorable and have integrity and deliver an authentic ticket as promised or i'll slap them with a law suit for false advertisement and anything else i can think of for taking advantage of unsuspecting first time concert goers like me. since reading your comment and the other one, my enthusiasim has tanked and i am panicked, worried, angry, and very prickly because people are asking about my ticket rather than reading on into the post and getting to the "meat" and actual question of my post which is: does anyone have any suggestions for making my concert experience a brilliant one? i know just being there will be more than awesome, but should i line up early, should i take water, do the band members ever sign autographs before or after a concert and if so/or not how do i increase my chance of getting an autograph, etc. i'm going alone so any information would be helpful. thanks.
  18. the arena would have their own tickets to sell and/or people to sell them for them and this is the case. i talked to someone about this before and she's gone to lots of concerts and found that there are many ticket agencies (for lack of a better word) that sell tickets for a specific concert, and then the arena itself--which makes sense. if LiveNation and TicketMaster (who Coldplay use to sell and distribute their products) have their own presale, it makes sense that the arena could/would have its own presale as well. i checked everything out and it's legit.
  19. "How did you get tickets? The presale starts Monday....... " i had to go straight to the Arena's online page---originally i was just looking to see what kind of seating the arena has and then found that i could actually buy earlier than what the Coldplay.com email said. But just as a warning, i had to pay an arm and a leg for the ticket (possibly because of it being up front and possibly because it was a single ticket--i guess a lot of people go with friends but i don't know anyone who can go with me). it's possible too that i could get a front row seat if i waited till the 17th (i don't have an AMEX so can't buy during the presale) but i didn't want to take any chances and figured all the floor seats would be gone after the pre-sale, so i checked with the arena.
  20. I'm stoked! i just purchased my ticket for the Seattle concert in April! i'll be in the one of the first 10 rows (fingers crossed for the 1st row) and on the side Guy plays (fingers crossed that they don't pick that concert to switch Guy and Jonny lol!). i picked that side just so i could get the clearest and closest spot to my favorite band member *blush*. to all of you out there who have been to Coldplay concerts, please, please give me some tips on making my experience as great as possible! i know it'll be aweosme just being there, but i have NEVER been to a concert in my life (i'm in my thirties and maybe just waiting for the best band to come along :D) and i really need some tips. i can drive the entire island of Ireland alone but have no clue what the best things to do at a concert are lol! should i line up early? can fans ever get an autograph from the band or one of the members? if so how and when do they do this or does it just depend on the concert, etc? i know April is 4 months away, but i'm one of those people who likes to plan ahead and have an idea of what to expect. thanks for any and all help :)
  21. thanks each of you for the welcome :) oh god, i can't stand Palin lol! i'm not a true Alaskan anyway, i'm an Air Force brat :) ummmmmmm *blushing*, definitely Guy. Scottish, dark hair and eyes and i've always had a thing for bass players...he's awesome! how about any of you?:wink3:
  22. the moment.. i realized i loved Coldplay was one evening when i was sitting on the floor in my bedroom back in 2002, i think, and i was listening to Parachutes over and over while doing some watercolor painting.....now i still love them but am completely infatuated with Guy lol!:laugh3:
  23. thank you shira for posting the Jimmy Fallon performance! i love watching Coldplay perform and REALLY love watching Guy play bass. the more Guy the better ;)
  24. Hi all, just wanted to say hello. i am new to this forum thing but as i have been listening to Coldplay for 10 years now and am finally smitten with one of the band members, i felt compelled to look for websites dedicated to chatting about the band and posting pictures, etc. i don't know how all of you do it, but thanks for posting so many great pictures, etc! :D;) warm regards, redmagic73 AKA Melissa
