[3-Aug-2012] Coldplay @ Izod Center, East Rutherford, NJ, USA
Bahahaha. They'll play again. Save your money? I wish I has someone else who was going to the concert to get excited with, besides my own mom of course :embarrassed:

Up With the Birds Chords?
No no, I assure you I can! I'm pretty much self-taught as well. I took formal lessons for about two years then quit because it wasn't "clicking". I do much better on my own anyway. There are a few things I can't understand, but I have an app on my phone that will show you the position of your fingers for correct chords (isn't technology grand?) :D I'll let you know if there's anything you can help me with ;)

It was honestly luck my mom was able to get them at all. She had a coworker helping her out and three computers between them. I printed out a map of the Izod center and just told her to get as close as possible because floor was definitely not going to be possible, lol. But we're in section 105, row 27 I believe. Not too shabby :D And I'm planning on investing in some nice binoculars and Mylo-ing them up.

Up With the Birds Chords?
Thank you so much timewarp :) I'm not quite sure if they're still available, I check every once in a while though, and the last time I checked nothing came up. My mom bought me them for Christmas and braved the AmEx presale day for me. We're not quite at the stage but not in the nosebleeds either. Should be fun! Section 105 :D Haha, but thank you for the chords and the warm welcome!

Up With the Birds Chords?
I know it sounds silly, but when I get home from school I'll often unwind by playing some piano. I know several Coldplay numbers that I've figured out by ear to play and sing to: Paradise, Us Against the World, Princess of China, Fix You, Yellow, Clocks, Violet Hill, 'Til Kingdom Come, And a few non-Coldplay songs, but that's besides the point. I don't take formal lessons and I'm not especially good, but I'm the only one who will ever hear me so it's not a big deal, LOL. I was wondering if anyone knows the general chords to Up With the Birds? It's honestly my favorite track on the album and also the only one I couldn't figure out without help so far. Just a general chord progression would be nice; I can usually figure it out the rest on my own. Thank you!

The Story of Mylo Xyloto. Track by Track.
Oh, I love this! But I agree in that they break up at the end. However, I think he got the short end of the stick and is still in love with her. (Or still has feelings for her) "Float all over the world just to see her again." No scratch that, I think they've broken up and he still feels for her but is moving on. That's possibly why I listen to UWTB so much. I love when songs tie into real life.

MX is a journey, until...
Up in Flames is one of my favorites. It makes my heart hurt; I think it's very emotional and doesn't fit well in its placement sandwiched between two very electronic songs. I agree that the placement in the album is less than perfect.

Does anyone still participate in these? :P Anyway I've got tickets for this concert and I'm so excited! I've already begun thinking of what I'm going to wear, isn't that silly? I have earrings shaped like the HLH spirals :P

Hi Coldplayers! I'm new and glad to be here...
My name is Hannah :) I am super excited to be a part of Coldplaying! I've always liked Coldplay. When I was little my dad would play A Rush of Blood to the Head in the car, and I remember Politik and In My Place quite specifically. As I got older though Coldplay took a backseat to the mainstream poppy stuff that was catchy yet not very pretty or captivating. Still, it was what was popular and I listened just to be accepted I suppose. This year has been rough for me. My parents formally divorced and my father moved out. My grandmother has been suffering from severe Alheimer's and dementia and no longer remembers who I am. My friends were growing distant as I matured yet they stayed the same. Needless to say I was rather depressed and things didn't seem to be getting any better. Something changed though on the day of the Madrid broadcast. I came home from school in a totally teary mood and didn't want to go or do anything. I vaguely remembed about the broadcast from an ad in the New York Times and caught the beginning of a replay. Needless to say I was captivated. Their energy, their happiness...the music was beautiful and just made me so much happier. I watched the whole thing then claimed my preorder of Mylo Xyloto from iTunes. For a solid two months MX and Coldplay in general were the only things I could listen to. And an addict was born... Other than my unhealthy Coldplay addiction (29 albums/EPs and 126 songs ) I enjoy singing, playing the piano, and participating in my school's drama club. Other artists I like are Apparatjik, Elbow, Florence and the Machine, Vampire Weekend, Matt & Kim, Oh Land, and Foster the People. I got the MX popup album for Christmas as well as tickets to their August 3rd show at the Izod center! I thought here would be a good place to prepare for that awesomeness to come... ;) Hannah :)
