  1. Me too, I think most sites are legit and you'll be just fine. I'm just trying to give folks something to look out for in terms of a "trick" I've seen played.
  2. There's a special place in Hell for them!
  3. Right you are,the forum community's amazing too!!
  4. Go for it, everyone please be careful though. The venue holds 2,900 and there are always scammers out there. I just noticed Ticket Network says some seat locations couldn't be located on the seating chart. NOT saying this is the case with that site but when I went to adifferent resale site to get Mumford and Sons tickets for a February show near D.C they had nonexistent seats. I called Patriot Center to be sure and someone there confirmed it was a scam!
  5. It's one of the things I love about going to shows, the sense of community.
  6. Thanks. BTW really happy for you! I think we met at the D.C show last July. If memory serves me right some of us hung around together waiting for the boys to come out but turns out they were having a party at a sushi spot nearby. Wonder if they'll say hello after the NYC show. Unlikely but one can dream. :)
  7. Stubhub Missed out on tickets despite having 2 windows open and constantly refreshing. If anyone has an extra to sell I'd be very interested. I Did take a look at Stubhub 375 tickets available $400 up to $9,000. How the hell does that happen? Got to be Ticketmaster selling to agents and getting a cut, no?? Or these people have some in. Citipass site says "sold out" but I'll keep trying... I agree with Heavensbee and wish they would do paperless tickets.
  8. Nah,you're not showing off and have every right to be excited!!
  9. and Citibank's private pass site directs you to Ticketmaster
  10. Right you are about Mumford and Sons. I did get a code for Troy,Ohio but was able to go to 3 shows closer to D.C so I offered my code, gratis, on the M&S forum. I feel like the Coldplay site led at least me to believe it will be more like a private sale and not just for general sale or Citibank cardholders (something they've done in the past w/o a "special e-mail alert from Coldplay) but for "true fans" who visit the official website and sign up for alerts. Hope that doesn't come across as petty!
  11. Thanks for the update! Guess that means the invites will be going out very soon. Good luck to all!
  12. Good luck! I'm looking for one too. Heavensbee mentioned Ticketmaster says they'll offer 2 tickets once they go on sale via the e-mail invite. My hope is if I don't get an invitation people who only need a single ticket will offer their extra on this forum so it will go to serious fans rather than people just looking to make $$ on E-Bay. Unfortunately I know that may be naive. Anyways that's how I got my ticket to the Mumford and Sons show at Forest Hills,Queens. I put a post on the forum and was sold a ticket at face value. They even had a thread to sell tickets and it was very specific that if you were looking to make a profit you should go somewhere else to sell your ticket.. My guess is the same thing will appear on this forum. If I do get an invitation I will let you know and it's yours if you need it
  13. Will do, thanks. Wonder if we'll need a code or something? Also wonder what time of day the e-mails will be sent since the website is on U.K time or 5 hours ahead of East Coast time.
  14. Huh? Thought they were only released via e-mail invite,at least initially?? Of course they may appear on Stubhub and the like after the release...
  15. Hope so,the anticipation's driving me crazy! I assume if they'll send them out all at once and folks will request which city they want? That's what Mumford and Sons did for most of their shows last tour.
  16. Anyone heard of any other radio station contests, maybe an NYC station? Has anyone out their gotten an official e-mail invite? I assumed they weren't released yet or the forum would have blown up...
  17. You're right, DAR or Warner are great choices too!
  18. I agree about D.C being a great place for a small show. Lincoln Theater jumped to my mind straight away. Saw Laura Marling there not too long ago. Beautiful place and as far as I could tell there's not a bad seat in the house. Black Cat is probably a bit too small. Another option could be 9:30 Club but they rarely do seated shows and my guess is most of the upcoming shows will have seating.
  19. Okay,am I totally confused??! Other than the German show, tickets are not being sold through Ticketmaster or the like but are only being released to people signed up for e-mail alerts through the official Coldplay website, right?? Hope they'll let us know when the e-mails have been set so I can stop obsessively checking my e-mail for an invite to the NYC show. :)
  20. On the other hand it might be an escape and/or a cathartic experience for him.
  21. So unbelievably excited for the next tour/album!! I agree that late summer/fall at the earliest makes sense. It takes time to put everything together for a tour the magnitude of Coldplays'. It's going to be interesting to see what direction the tour(s) take since so far the mood and tone of the LP is decidedly different from Mylo Xylto.
  22. You hear someone say a word or phrase that also happens to be a Coldplay lyric and it takes everything in your power not to break out into song. But you still sing along in your head! :)
