I have to say, Moon Music is really touching. Chris is completely naked on this one...

Moon Music sounds between Music of the Spheres and Everyday Life, with quite the same problems and qualities. I read it before and I completely agree : enough of those snippets ! I know Coldplay loves putting hidden songs in their albums like Life is for Living or Chinese Sleep Chant but they felt finished enough to be put on a record. EL had maybe half of their songs about 2 min, and on this one I didn't even know which song I was listening too some times ! The ending of Jupiter ? The rainbow thing ? Please guys... Moon Music, FLIFIL and iAAM are the best songs in this album in my opinion and the lyrics of Moon Music are the highlight of the last two records. Let's talk about the lyrics... I know Chris wants a world full of love. We got it mate. So why do you repeat it two thousand times in 15 min ? Between the word love and the lalalalas, It feels like I'm listening to Paul Mccartney when he was 17. I know I may sound a bit harsh but I love this f*cking band when they put their talent together. Chris has genius but unfortunately he sometimes loses himself into concepts and concepts don't make songs. I won't talk about Aeterna because I don't want to be mean. 5,5/10

Trouble in Town vs People of the Pride

I think everything has already been told ... Music of The Spheres is not Coldplay's best record for sure. It's also the first time I don't take a Coldplay album as a whole and I know it goes with the " one song for one sphere " idea but ... I don't feel it. The band has always been so minutious with the atmosphere of their other eras that I can't help feeling something a bit too bland and neutral. It doesn't mean the songs are bad : Human Heart, Infinity Sign and of course Coloratura sound really amazing to me. Maybe the problem comes of the way they thought about it at the beginning : it feels like they wanted a record to tour with and they made a universe after that statement. I wanted them to be free from the beginning and release something from their pure musicality. I don't know how they worked on this one, it feels like Chris would send ideas to the other members from his studio in L.A and they just followed the lead, with maybe less brainstorming and big studio sessions than Everyday Life. Coloratura feels like when they finally got together and made a song together, as old friends. Still I can hear Chris and Coldplay's talent, I know it's here. But it could have been done differently... Anyway. Love them ♥

@kupiz I always thought that Mylo Xyloto was an album made by a depressed person who suddenly discovers happinness ( Chris ? ) ... and his happiness is as strong as was his sadness before. That must be false but I like that idea.

@thomasPh I guess that will be the case for MOTS Vol II ? If they keep going with the logic of one experimental record + one album for world tours each time.. ( GS + AHFOD, EL + MOTS )

Let Somebody Go is a little diamond imo... That's the Coldplay I want to hear at least once in every album. You know, when Chris sings you simple things with simple chords but it touches your soul more than anything.
