sorry bout the english thing... I agree that there are some unnecessary posts... but to ask what song has the best piano is extremely reasonable. If discussing the way the band plays instruments is wrong, then what could be right?

This is the author of the "Best Piano in a Coldplay Song" thread that Maureen used as an example of a poor thread. I fail to understand this. I play piano, and think that discussing my favorite band's best piano song is not so inconceivable. Also, if you are going to criticize my posts, try to be somewhere close to grammatically correct when you are attempting to do so (maybe at least the topic should be spelled correctly).

According to the Chicago Tribune, tickets for the August show in Wisconsin at Alpine Valley are 69 dollars. Does this not seem pretty damn expensive? I know there is a previous thread featuring this quesiton, but do Coldplay have much influence over ticket prices? In 2003 I saw them in Milwuakee for 30 dollars

Anyone notice a similarity in the tracklisting between AROBTTH and X & Y..... the innovative, kinda "weird" opener (Square One, Politik)... the piano ballad single for track four (Scientist, Fix You)... I could go on, but, frankly, it would just weaken my argument

I totally agree w/ that.... Speed of Sound for sure, then one other song from X & Y, then an old classic that will be cut short at the end. And FYI, SNL is definetely an hour and a half.... i dont know if its longer than usual because its the season finale, but i know its more than an hour. Dream set list: Square One, Fix You, Swallowed in the Sea, X & Y, Twisted Logic

whats the verdict on number of televised songs? Considering it's a 90 minute show minus 25 for commercials i really doubt the band could play five songs because that would be about 25 minutes or, in other words, almost half the show

till the next album? dunno what else musically related it would mean

dumb question... do they show SNL outside of the US? I doubt they could show it live or Europeans would be watching it in the morning or something

I really hope they don't cut songs this time for radio... they cut out significant portions of "Clocks" and "The Scientist" on US radio and it really pissed me off

X & Y is real cool as is Fix You. Swallowed in the Sea has a great start... does anyone know if guitar or piano kick in after the intro?

From what I've heard of the new album there are a lot of parts where there are just strings and no real instruments.... the start of fix you, start of square one, end of white shadows, ect.... songs on AROBTTH were also loaded w/ strings (Politik, In my Place)... does the band write/ play these parts? from what instrument do these "strings" come from? just curious, because it seems to be a big part of the coldplay sound.

i remember in some past article, Spin maybe, chris referred to chicago as "the best place in the world." living near chicago, thats pretty sweet to hear
