  1. Watch this video and countless others from the tour. The syncing between his lips and the actual vocals at some points in this performance is pretty blatant.
  2. Ah man I'd say Paradise is a defining moment of Newplay and not in a good way :borg:. MX could have been great had they my removed the likes of Paradise, Prince of China and Up in Flames and replaced it with other songs from that time period. Imagine the following: HLH Spanish Rain (debatable since it was played at end of viva tour) Charlie Brown Us Against the World M.M.I.X ETIAW Major Minus U.F.O Moving to Mars Wedding Bells A Hopeful Transmission DLIBYH Up with the Birds I think you have to keep ETIAW since it wouldn't be Coldplay album without one bombastic pop rock song
  3. I agree its cringeworthlying obvious he is lip syncing
  4. Holy hell that was amazing! Massive respect to both Chris and those kids
  5. Is will actually playing the drums during this remix of Paradise or is that just part of the backing track?
  6. Will on a drum machine for Army of One doesn't make sense to me at all. The acoustic drumming on that song was one of the few redeeming qualities of AHFOD. Chris' voice didn't sound great singing this live.
  7. Not only is the music amazing here, but the visuals at the ending of this performance of Lovers in Japan are breathtaking. (@3:12 min)
  8. Jeeze if thats an actual upcoming setlist i'd consider selling my tickets.....
  9. This interview also indicates how much his kids have influence over the musical direction the band has taken. He basically said his kids have shown him that all that matters is the beat and the way a song makes you feel. I think he should stick to the likes of Brian Eno when it comes to musical advice...
  10. I think he meant he would have been too insecure or uncomfortable to accept that type of compliment
  11. Exactly... I feel like with every passing Coldplay era there are less and less retrospective interviews that actually dig into the music being promoted.
  12. MX/Hurts like Heaven Birds Charlie Brown Ink Midnight Army of One (no XMTS) Ghost Story Major Minus Up with the Birds
  13. Does anyone else think that if AHFOD kept pushing in he direction of the title track and "Birds" that it would have been actually good? For me the album massively drops off after the first 2 tracks, maybe saved a bit by the drum beat (acoustic for once) on Army of One.
  14. You're a bit naive to think the main downfall or reason why many of us don't like the direction they took with AHFOD is because of Stargate. It was obviously a decision the whole band made to choose who produces them and how songs sound and end up on the album.
  15. Yeah that was painful to read, my 10 years of fandom has reached rock bottom... no pun intended
  16. What? No he hasn't.... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_Nelson_(British_record_producer) EDIT: in fairness there is another Ken Nelson producer that did die back in 08'
  17. And better yet, that album wasn't close to what anyone would call "Rock"
  18. From a user on the Coldplay subreddit "nothings too broken to find a way... a dream that died by light of day..." seems right to me
  19. There was no official word from Coldplay that they would be playing with a guest, just speculation. I agree something was off, but I don't think they held back a new song.
  20. Coldplay are a well oiled machine with everything they do being very deliberate. I highly doubt they made it a "game time decision" whether or not to release a new song. Those 5 songs they played were set from the beginning i can guarantee it.
  21. Absolutely, something definitely felt off with him.
  22. This about sums up my opinion too. Well put by KidA.
  23. I 100% agree. Albums 1-4 it seemed like they had a chip on their shoulder each step of the way. They talked about wanting to make their fans proud to like Coldplay. Since MX all we hear from Chris is how they are just making music that they like and pay no mind to criticism. This is sad because I think what makes a band improve is when they have something to prove. I get the feeling they are just coasting. "We were bigger than we were better" - A quote from Will during the Viva era talking about X&Y. Should follow that advice once again.
