Hello Malaysia!
Gnite, Emily! Wait, here's a list of my faves from Vampire Weekend: Oxford Comma, A Punk, M79, Mansard Roof.... Wait, just get both albums la. ALL THEIR SONGS (apart from maybe one or two) are good. Sexy Murdoc. Except when he's wearing just his underwear. That's just gross...
-
Hello Malaysia!
Lucky you, to be so near! You could've like caught a bit of their sweat and made clones of them for us... :wink3: Me and Rudy were further away... But still, yes, the show was still awesome no matter what! It did really feel too short! I was so sad when it ended too soon... And when they came back onstage for The Scientist and LiTii, I was practically crying. I know. I'm an over-the-top diehard fan. :laugh3: AAAAAAGH I MISS THEM!!! :disappointed: Edit: Bahahaha, Rudy, your reaction above my post here is awesome... All those smileys... Another edit: Rudy, apsal lagu Diplomat's Son yg paling boring, is also the longest song on the album? That's so wrong...
-
Hello Malaysia!
Meh, I just skipped Diplomat's Son. I can't help it. It's too dull! And California English is too... randomly weird for my taste... The rest of the album makes me so happy, though. :D
-
Hello Malaysia!
Bahaha don't tell anyone this, but when I was in high school, I had a weird crush on Murdoc... My friends were freaked out.
-
Hello Malaysia!
Woops! I didn't realise I wrote it twice! hahah! I guess it really is too awesome! Haha! I meant to write I Think You're a Contra... Haha! I always skip Diplomat's Son for some unknown reason... K, I'm listening to it now. I don't like Cousins. :disappointed:

Hello Malaysia!
Yeah, is she the same friend who got mad you didn't ajak her to see Coldplay? Oh yeah, how could I not have mentioned Vampire Weekend in my list of excellent American bands? Rudy, I LOVE LOVE LOVE their new album! I think I listened to it exclusively all yesterday... I love Giving Up the Gun, Horchata, White Sky and Giving up the Gun. However, the songs I love the most are Run and Taxi Cab. Taxi Cab especially. :awesome: I just love all the little tiny sound details in that song... :nice:

Hello Malaysia!
Sufjan Stevens? Nah, his music to me is just kinda meh... :\ I love talking about crap music. I get so emotional. Hahah!
-
Hello Malaysia!
miloboy, you were at the Coldplay show? I was there, too! WOOO!!! Awesome show. I'm still not over it. I still relive the show in my head every once in a while... Hehe! Look, I'm still getting excited over it! :laugh4: I don't hate all rnb and hip hop, I just hate the ones that have no quality. A lot of these types of songs are always about sex and women and bling bling and hot women and sexy women. It makes me sick. Is this really what Malaysians love? :disappointed: Oh man, if The Killers do finally come to Singapore, I'm so going. I'm actually quite relieved about them not making it last month, because I missed out! Sucks for those who got tickets, tho... I would die if U2 came here! Emilythea, not all American music sound the same... It's sad because only the CRAP american music gets covered in our local radio and tv stations... The Strokes, The Killers, Beirut, MGMT and Tokyo Police Club are some really brilliant American bands! :D
-
Hello Malaysia!
THIS. Boys Like Girls? Oh yeah, the All American Rejects were here not so long ago... Played in a frickin car park... :toilet: No offence, All American Rejects fans! :P To be honest I can't even tell the difference between the All American Rejects, Boys Like Girls, Fallout Boy and... Panic at the Disco. They all sound the same, too. So sad la, the Malaysian taste in music. So happy to know there are some people (ie you guys!) in Malaysia who share similar tastes as me in music. :D

Hello Malaysia!
Oh yeah Imogen Heap's coming to Singapore in March. :( And the Killers were supposed to be there last week... *sigh*. I miss going to a good show.
-
Hello Malaysia!
Naah. I'm waiting to get an acoustic... Then I'll be unstoppable! Muahahaha. Ly, Kris Allen? For God's sake, man, why do we always have to invite all the crappy artists to Malaysia? We've had Sean Kingston (I HATE him), Akon (I hate him passionately), Ne-Yo... And who was it that came just recently? See, I don't even know any more because they're ALL THE FLIPPING SAME. A lot of the bands I am DYING to see all went to Singapore last year... The Mystery Jets, Kaiser Chiefs, Oasis... and now Muse... The list goes on... Rudy, when are we gonna move in with Min? Hahah...
-
Hello Malaysia!
Haha! I just found out Noonsun's name is Emily.. :awesome: RUDY, you laughing at my short fingers? Jahat! :whip:
-
Hello Malaysia!
what's with the udang galah, rudy and Ly? Hey, miloboy, you don't know what it's like playing the guitar with short fingers like mine! Hard, you know! I'm not a massive fan of Echo and the Bunnymen but I admit they are monumental... Lips Like Sugar, favourite song! Who are the other emilys in this thread, emilythea?
-
Hello Malaysia!
YAY! Finally we're not talking about food or maths in this thread! Nyeheh. :P Let's talk about music! Min is currently at the Muse concert... Playing the guitar 15 minutes per day is apparently not enough for me to improve... Like I've mentioned to Kimgan before, my fingers are way too short to do some barre chords on a classical guitar... :laugh4: EDIT: Wait, why is Ian McCulloch a poser? Maaaaaaaaan I wanna see them!

Chris Martin's Worst Lyrics
I agree with those saying Lost's lyrics are crap. They're dull! The 'You might be a big fish in a little pond' part is especially painful for me, too. Like Cobalt said, "It's Chris trying to be symbolic in his lyrics but that statement is just being painfully obvious. Which is irritating." :disappointed:

Hello Malaysia!
WAITAMINUTE. Miloboy7, are you actually from Phlox? I swear I think I've heard of you guys before... And yeah, it is sad that Coldplay never get their asses over here... :disappointed: EDIT: Rudyboy! :whip: Don't do those dozey eyes at me! How was I supposed to know that CSC is Computer Science and NOT Chinese Sleep Chant? I'm a Coldplayer, not a computer scientist :P ... :laugh4:
-
Hello Malaysia!
Because randomness is good for the soul, Rudyku. :nice: I just made myself a nice cup of cold Milo... With extra chocolaty bits on top... :laugh3:
-
Hello Malaysia!
Hi Carla! Speaking of Milo, Milo is very popular in Malaysia, where the brand name is synonymous with chocolate flavored drinks: Milo has a 90% market share in Malaysia (not the often quoted 90% worldwide share of Milo consumption)[4], and Malaysians were said to be the world’s largest consumers of Milo.[5] -Wikipedia. I didn't know that! Haha.
-
Hello Malaysia!
MILO! Though not really originating from Malaysia, Milo is such a Malaysian thing. :awesome: *Leaps out of food & beverages topic*

coldplayers from far away
Pfft!
-
coldplayers from far away
For some reason whatever Reilly just posted isn't showing up, but judging by Rudy's laughter, I BET YOU ANYTHING Reilly just posted a map of Ireland or something...
-
coldplayers from far away
Well, get to it then! Post a photo of Ireland, please! :whip:

coldplayers from far away
Hei Rei...lly :awesome:! Those are pretty much all of the skyscrapers and tall buildings we have in KL... a lot of the rest of the city is made of British colonial and older Chinese-style buildings... Many people who don't know much about the country think that Kuala Lumpur's roads are just dusty paths of sand and earth... And that Malaysians live in trees. :laugh3: You still in Ireland? Or Newcastle, was it?
-
coldplayers from far away
Oh, wow, Romania looks like it came straight out of, like... LOTR of something awesome like that. :awesome:

coldplayers from far away
I'm sure there's a similar thread round here somewhere... But never mind. Promoting our own cities is fun! Here's my city, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia!
