  1. Is that your banner, Rudy? Me like! See, now we all know you DO have a chance of getting your art exhibited! Anyhu, I have a bone to pick with SPM Seni questions! I was helping my brother with his Seni SPM just around two weeks ago, and I realised they NEVER EVER change the questions! The questions are usually very limited, too-- they don't actually allow you to fully express your creativity. They're very specific, too, and art should not be that way. The questions need to be more general, so that the kids can go completely out of the box and create something original. Instead, we get questions like this: 1. Draw a 'tunggul kelapa' with orchids growing on it, set at the beach. Ok, we get the beach question. Again. I had that when I did my SPM 6 years ago... (EDIT: I forgot i didn't do art in SPM, it was my PMR 8 years ago! Even worse!) This woman did a nice job (I think she's an art teacher), but seriously, can our students do that in the span of, what, 2-3 hours? 2. Draw a foggy forest scene with a campsite has been set up... I can't remember the question exactly, but I remember the details were very specific. 3. Draw a scene at the market, illustrating the crowded situation... Blah blah boring. It would actually be interesting if teachers didn't already make us do this every single year... The rest of the questions were in the same vein... It would've been much better if they said, okay, draw a beach scene. And then students can go bonkers and draw a beach scene with something totally unexpected in the piece, but instead we're forced to draw orchids at the beach. It's fine, I suppose, to give specific questions to help those who have no idea what to do, but it would be amazing if they gave one question that asks students to go absolutely crazy and create whatever the hell they want, BUT the students must apply what they have learned (ie art techniques) in the syllabus. rant over. Lol. It just really bothered me. :P
  2. Oooh! A piece of Indonesia! I love how their's a Bahasa Indonesia title for it, too!
  3. Ooooh I like this idea. Just when I thought it would be impossible for poor ol' me to get something so priceless! I support this idea! :D
  4. The new one's pretty... Is it just me or is the curator now allowing pieces that aren't in landscape format?
  5. I love Indian food in general! Wee! Why is it every time I come in to this thread we're talking about food? :laugh3:
  6. I WANT IT. I'm gonna go hunting tomorrow. Thanks for the heads up!
  7. Wow, that's beautiful. Hope it gets picked next!
  8. Sounds exciting! I love how they're making everything on a smaller scale now, but that might mean no more massive world-wide arena-rocking tours... It might be even harder for us fans living in more... remote areas of the world harder to see them live! But on the bright side, "Frontman CHRIS MARTIN is concerned the band are being seen as a huge stadium act and totally inaccessible for their loyal fans." Thank you, Chris.
  9. These are the words to the poem... When you set to sail across violent oceans: Just remember: I am still here. To pray for your safety when you're in motion, You have nothing else to fear. If a storm should threat to cover your path I will shed you from the rain. And if I fail to protect you from its wrath, I will help to ease your pain. And when you arrive at those foreign lands filled with strangers, dreams and goals I will hold you by your familiar hands, Guide you away from those dark holes. Just remember that you still have me here And you'll have nothing else to fear.
  10. Windows 7 Ultimate for the win! :D It's 100% times better than the buggy Vista, and it's also pretty. :D
  11. Happy Birthday! Lol @ angry Chris...
  12. Oh wow, Jonny looks really smouldering in that individual photo of him in the first Prospekt's March pic...
  13. Julian Casablancas - Phrazes for the Young. I LOVE this album to bits! Except for 4 Chords of the Apolocalypse... But ALL the other songs on this album are just so amazing!
  14. Yeah, I've listened to a Frozen Fingers and Snow Crystals, but Ferreting's still my favourite so far! :D Thanks for giving the titles of the other songs, though. I love discovering new music that's actually good! Exciting stuff! :awesome:
  15. The Scientist - Here's the sequence of thoughts I had when I watched this vid for the first time: "Oooh wow, look at his blue eyes." "Oh look at his gap teeth! " "Hmm backwards walking... Interesting..." "OH NOES HIS GIRLFRIEND ACTUALLY DIED! AND HE WALKED OFF AND WENT TO SLEEP?!!? Nooooooo..." ""
  16. I don't hear any resemblance to Guy's voice in this one either... I guess we'll just have to wait and see... we'll find out sooner or later. This song's a bit awesome though! I'll have to hear more to judge it properly though. I love their other song, Ferreting. It's amazing!
  17. Hey! Crying at The Lion King is not stupid! Poor Mufasa. When Simba cries over Mufasa's body, I always get that painful lump in my throat. You know, the one you get when you're trying not to cry... Oh yes, and Forrest Gump. That movie makes me cry everytime.
  18. Postman Pat and his black and white cat > Bob the Builder and his talking vehicles...
  19. Neither did I... Haha. But maybe we gained 1kg of muscles? :laugh3:
