Hello Malaysia!
It is a Jeff Buckley song, isn't it? Oh my, I'm having a quarter-life crisis. Like seriously. I am depressed. Why even change your band's name? The Phlox sounds cool enough...

What are your biggest pet peeves?
1. I hate it when people in my country speak in really fake American accents they picked up from watching too many American shows... They all end up sounding so nasal! 2. When people enter a room through a door that was closed and then not close it again after they enter. That's all I can think of right now.

Hello Malaysia!
What have you been busy with, Ollah? Changing your band name to Faces for Radio? :P Oooh I have another name! Sonic Boom! Although it sounds like a boyband from the early 90's when Street Fighter was cool... :disappointed:

MILK OR CEREAL FIRST
Ok wait, I take back my Amen! I only put in milk first because I use powdered milk... Which is gross, but still. And I can't put in the cereal first and then pour the powder on top of it and THEN mix in the water, cuz that's just gross.... But then I'd probably put in the milk first even if I was using regular milk, out of habit...

Lyvie, that sending letter to Najib thing is for school pupils, right? Well, you should totally write a letter to him to remind him that young people in school aren't daft, either. :awesome:

Hai Carla... Apa khabar? :awesome: Lyvie! I've never been to Fraser's Hill, either. And while we're on the topic of what a loser I am :P, I've never been to Bukit Tinggi, either. :stunned: Oh, and I agree with that amendment! Frickin towers are beginning to pop up like mushrooms around my place, Taman Tun Dr Ismail. Not good.

Hello Malaysia!
I've never been to Cameron Highlands... I know. Shame on me. But yesterday I went to Genting! Walked around for an hour just to get out of the blazing hotness of KL and the rest of Malaysia, looked at some strawberries, bought a strawberry smoothie and then went down again. Anyway gong xi fa cai, y'all. The year of the tiger! That's my year! :D

Coldplayer's Great Literature Suggestions
I think Maxine Hong Kingston's The Woman Warrior is one of the best books I've ever had to study in my years studying literature. Kingston's an Asian American writer, and her novel is a sort of semi-autobiography, dealing with being an immigrant and finding the balance needed to live between two different cultures. It's part fantasy (there's a chapter that tells the story of the legendary Chinese woman warrior, Mulan), and it's part real-life drama. If you like Amy Tan's The Joy Luck Club, you'll like this. Oh, and I quite like Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, too. I used to hate it when I was much younger, but after reading it again as an adult, it's really quite amazing. Especially when you read it from different perspectives. I mean, it's so easy to say that the book is about the dangers of technology and all that jazz, but it's also about the importance of having a loving family and being responsible parents... I felt sorry for the Monster in the story because he had no love in his life, mainly because he didn't have parents. The one he did have completely abandoned him. This point is very close to home, and perhaps that's why I found the book very moving.

Passion Pit
I don't mind their songs. I actually really like Little Secret and To Kingdom Come, but damnit, the vocalist's vocals annoy me so much... :disappointed:

MGMT new album "Congratulations!" out April 13
Oh so Ke$ha sings that annoying song? Back on topic, though: I love MGMT! I don't think their last album didn't age well at all. I still listen to it. Kids does actually get annoying, but mostly because it's on every single teen drama, and it seems to be the only song people actually know them for. The best songs on the album are the ones that aren't singles, even though the singles are the catchiest ones. What do they mean they're 'dropping the irony'? What I noticed from their last album is that there are mainly two types of songs- the catchy electro-poppy ones, and the more dark, psychedelic ones. Judging by that article, it seems that they've opted for catchy electro pop. If that's true, then I'm worried.

Proposed Amendments
:disappointed: It is indeed a joke. Any outsider looking in can tell, too. So many things need to be changed, I don't even know where to start! But what can we do? You write about it, you get arrested. You participate in demonstrations, you get arrested (except if you're demonstrating with someone from the government like Khairy, harharhar. Remember when did that protest when Condoleezza Rice's visited the country? Yeah, that was completely harmless. His intention was good, I'll give you that, but if Khairy wasn't there, who knows what kinda fate the protesters would face... Again, the double standard). You write a letter to the authorities, and they ignore you. Man, it's frustrating. So yeah, what change do I want? I want the media to be independent. No more control by the people in power, please. Let alternative channels be more widely available, so that those living in rural areas get to make up their own minds instead of having their opinions shaped by news fed to them by the government due to the fact that there is no other choice.
