  1. Here's a physical copy that's out now on ebay. Therefore, I conclude, it is highly likely that it is in transit. But still, if it comes later, no complaints here. [emoji41] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I posted this picture in another thread, when it arrived. I thought it would be fitting to post it here again, being that this thread is dedicated and specific to the MX era. Re: Xylobands with Controller Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Discussing Brazilian, Argentinian and other suspicious (likely counterfeit) promos in another thread... Then I saw this one too in my collection, that I forgot I own as well. I did succumb to the amazing looks of these promos back then. It wasn't too rampant yet during the early part (Re: the release of so many Brazilian promos). But lately, they went into full swing with creating different versions of promos. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Any day will work for me, as long as it doesn't get postponed. [emoji2] And if, by any chance, it does... Oh well, it will get released at some point... Patience is virtue. [emoji1303] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Somehow there was a glimpse of hope, thinking -- did they plan to release this earlier than the expected date, the way they surprised us with the release of the digital file? Although, the dig file release date didn't follow through with the original plan. Anyway, if it happens, I can't and won't complain at all...! The feeling for me would rather be happy, secondary to the element of surprise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Was browsing through my collection this afternoon... I found few items that I totally forgot I own. While I do have another Blue Room ep acetate, this one is unique - secondary to the authenticity seal. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Had some glitch with my livenation pre-order of Kep, so I received an e-mail prompting me to call them. After the issue was fixed, I was told that the order is now ready for delivery. It's July 31... so I asked if what I heard was right, and it was re-confirmed that it is ready to ship...! :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Looks good, right? But having bought that kind of promo before gives me a concrete idea that this may likely be a counterfeit. Anyone from their home can technically produce this kind of picture disc. It is literally a cdr that has a picture printed onto it. And the writings on it...? Unfortunately, it only takes one sample cd for them to mimic. Even if it is present, I will assume that it is a well-thought counterfeit. So tempting as it is, I won't have it in my collection. It's like knowing that it is yogurt, but convincing my brain that it is ice cream. :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. And such promos get released immediately right after the official release is out. Hence, the high quality audio... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. And while we're at it, here are some more suspicious items on ebay... The sound quality is good... Could they have already indeed invested with high grade equipment, because they know that it will definitely and easily pay for itself - considering the high demand of promo cds and the growing number of collectors? ...Maybe so...Maybe so... 11. I can't say that I am still not skeptic about it, but I guess this is where collectors will just have to agree to disagree. Each one really will just have to collect what they feel like collecting... Collect by preference, I'd say. I would love for us all to boycott the counterfeit promos, but we can't control other people's preferences. The best that we can offer is to post our findings/observations, and let them choose whether they are still to support the counterfeiting business or not. My wish, like yours, is for such business not be supported, therefore - no room to thrive. It is disheartening, frustrating, infuriating, and sickening that such people exists and are laughing their way to the bank. But what is really left for us to do? We just have to collect at our own risk, if we so decide to continue collecting... and enjoy the ride that we choose to take part. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Thanks! That's a great info about how the dutch promos started to come into play. Also, we'll be more cautious about the irregularities, now that you have pointed them out. :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. This specific X&Y promo is definitely legit. Though there may be a few from the early eras, majority of the promo releases then are genuine and unquestionably amazing pieces of collection treasures. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Oh, and as for the Brazilian and Argentinian promos, I have always felt that way. Although it makes for a great addition to a collection, the more collectors patronize them - the more their counterfeiting empire thrives. I have also bought several of their promos prior, but not anymore. After having the inclination that it was fake, I still succumbed to making another purchase at another instance - secondary to specific mixes/tracks that they include, and the design of some of it. But I finally stopped, because I literally felt like I was officially making the fake items a part of the collection. Cool as they seem, with the appearance and tracks, they are still fake. And for sellers to have a thriving business through taking advantage of the situation, is something that is purely and genuinely opportunistic, foul, and sad. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Thank you very much! This is greatly appreciated...! Having pointed it out at a parallel stand point via collecting the same promo type, with a different artist, does provide a legitimate angle of comparison. Another question though... glossy vs matte finish, still with dutch promos... does it make a case for suspicion too? Thanks again, very much! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. Hi! This is actually what I was referring to on my most recent previous post... the benelux promos. I, personally, love the benelux promos... BUT... I am finally accepting the idea - that they may be fake. Your guess is as good as mine... So where do we go to draw the line with collecting? Should we say we wasted all our time? :) I say, collect with caution... Cherish what you acquire... Trust your instinct... Bid with excitement... Post and share in forums with delight... Share your stories... With whatever you have - Take pride. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. And yes, To Each Their Own... Complete is what you make it. Some likes to complete a certain promo type... All different, personal categories. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Exactly. Besides, no one will ever have a complete collection, even if one tries. The greatness of a collection is not measured by the quantity of cd or memorabilia that they have accumulated. It is the story behind the hunt that matters... the satisfaction of owning that piece that you want... and all other significant personal reasons, that makes it all worthwhile! Whether it be 1, 10, few, or many, we are individual owners of such great pieces of musical history. And individual collectors we may be, but as one group - all our collections rolled into one is what "Complete" stands for. If we can collect the story behind the collection of each piece, that will be the ultimate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Make sure to ask for an orange one in October...! I requested for a specific color last year! You are getting closer and closer to that magical moment! :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. I have been collecting the benelux promos for a long time now. I have always thought at some point that it may also be one of those high quality bootlegs. I refused to entertain that thought further, but the more I look at it, and the consistency of the same sellers selling them, and the same look that some of their items for sale appears to be - it does resemble a bootleg promo. Add the fact that all the new benelux coldplay promos of AHFOD still has the ghost stories font. Gone are the days when promos are genuine. Now, we even seem to have promos after promos from the same Argentinian and Brazilian sellers. And of course, how can we forget the influx of Greatest hits (collection/compilation) from Russia, Israel, and China? It has now become a money making scheme. The best way to collect promos now, in this world with so many con artists, is to just buy whatever you feel will make your collection complete. You don't have to have every promo releases from all countries to make your collection great (and complete). Whether you decide to buy some of the suspicious promos, or stick to what is proven legit (which would be the ones from the previous eras), you should be okay - as long as you are personally happy and contented with them. Just to be clear, I have totally nothing against the people from all countries mentioned. I am only speaking about the fake promos that originates from each. Peace and Love to All! Check out and participate in the individual threads for each Coldplay era record collections. Happy Collecting! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. The fact that they write about Coldplay, means that they think about Coldplay. They want to think they hate Coldplay, but they can't help themselves but write about them. Bottomline, these people are nobody. And the only way they can be somebody is to talk about famous and well-accomplished people. For some, that's their only ticket to fame.
