We have all fallen as victims of fake promo cds. The only thing we can do is try our best to identify the authentic ones from the bootlegs... And hopefully, add more legit items in our collection.

There has been a lot of AHFOD promos on ebay that are clearly fake and some highly suspicious. And of course, if you try to ask the sellers, they will always say "I only sell legit stuff". I believe that the benelux promos (granted, the smooth surfaced ones, and not just any possible white printable cd made from any personal printer with cd printing capability) is legit. If anybody else thinks otherwise, let's discuss it. Maybe we can be enlightened. PM me and then let's compare our findings with some seller names & items on ebay that we may find suspicious. We all need to put our heads together, and stop these scammers. We all know those greatest hits also look good, but are not official releases. Their business thrives because fans buy them. Their busines piggybacks on coldplay's success. And with people/fans buying those bootlegs, they will have return of investment and more. Hence, continue to manufacture them.

What are you guys' thoughts about the influx of fake Coldplay promo cds on ebay & those fake listings that have been removed on discogs (thanks to Mao). It's sad that knowing that there are serious collectors all over the world, the cons have laid interest on investing their time & money on making fake coldplay cds/promos their business. You see several "remixes" promo (part 1, then part 2) now from different countries. If you are not a good researcher, you won't know that the some of the details on the disc don't make sense at all. Someone's even bootlegging a benelux promo right now on ebay. It is clear that the curved text at the top is off-centered. Way too sad for us collectors...

I got it from a former collector. And yes, he knew that this disc is significant. This shows a different label format from the first ones that came out in ebay. This one has the EMI logo. Glad to have found it. And now, own it.

But yes... I do feel lucky for owning the extensive collection that I have. Just don't have enough time to take mass picture of them. One day, I'll start doing it in increments. Thanks again...!

This if for my earlier post (Rare 12" & Promos): Actually, the cd is literally just entitled as "Coldplay" (No Acoustic per Title, unlike the other one available in cardsleeve).

Coldplayground (Complete Collection) Ahhh, finally I took some time to take few more pictures from my collection. I admire everyone that has the patience to group their cds by album and take pictures of them in an organized fashion. I will commence taking pictures of my cd collection (and some miscellaneous) every now and then (maybe not as structured as others, but still...), and will share them with the group. Re: Safety Hello! This is a late response, but may still help you in the future. I haven't been in this forum for a while. I have two copies of Safety ep. I will check for you per the inquiry. In the meantime, I want to advice you to be very careful when purcasing this specific disc. I won my supposed third copy of this ep few months ago from a seller from asia. I was going to send payment already, but then felt like asking for an extra picture... I asked for a close-up of the inlay cover and the disc itself. I noticed some discrepancy on the inside part of the inlay... There was more black space by the left side of Chris' image. Meaning, there's a huge possibility that the item was a reproduction. If I didn't have two copies to compare it with, I would have been ecstatic right now, owning what was apparently fake. The seller's pure hesitance to send me more pictures, and subsequent defensive remarks about his item confirmed my suspicion. The transaction ended up being cancelled. Good thing ebay tracks all correspondence. They totally saw my point. That was my saving grace. So again, know that not all safety eps out there are authentic. One specific fake safety ep is one among the 2 listed on discogs currently. I asked for more pictures... The seller sent me a picture of MY OWN cd. Yes, the seller took the pictures from my own public posting. Not so smart. I will get back to you regarding your inquiry as soon as I check my copies. Have a good one...! And Happy New Year to all!
