  1. Agreed. Many people are saying his break up is the reason for the lyrics but even then they hadn't broken up before the album was made... unless Chris just decided to change the lyrics completely. Even in the Zane Lowe interview... he says he 'invited' avici over... WHY?! His 'never be as lyrically good as Jay-Z' argument is also flawed because Shiver, Spies, VLV, Violet Hill, AROBTTH all have IMMENSELY good lyrics Wish someone would interview the rest of the band and see what they think about MX/GS even though GS is a massive improvement on MX. Some beautiful music but the weird effects and weak lyrics kinda ruin it someone even quoted me RE complaining about the over use of synths and said 'the band could've removed it but chose not to.'... Yes, I'm aware. Just want to know WHY they used synths considering this was meant to be their stripped back album.
  2. My album order would go something like this: VLV GS AROB/Parachutes Every Coldplay b-side Alternative versions of tracks Unreleased tracks Interviews with the band Cover versions of the band's songs MX. I feel as though VLV to GS would've bee a much more natural progression rather than VLV to MX
  3. If they replaced all the synthy background noise with piano/electric/acoutic guitar and put Will on an acoustic drumkit the album would be beyond perfection Can someone confirm: are the background string noises actual violins etc or just keyboard noises? :'( DON'T BREAK MY HEART
  4. Not as good as it's live counterpart, that's for sure. I still feel it does itself justice - beautiful acoustic number but the synth beat thingy kinda overpowers it.
  5. Agreed lyrics are awful. But Chris kinda said they would be so i don't know, it's almost as if he knows they are but it's the words from his heart I guess? Not enough Johnny, all of him is muted or replaced by synths for some reason. As for drums, I'm sure it was Will's choice but would've been nice to have heard actual drums :/ The album is almost Chris feat. Band at times, agreed eg O, AIMH, Midnight... I think it's a bit overproduced but only very slightly and it works most of the time - AA is one that slightly upset me because the effects on Chris's voice were so unneccessary but oh well, love the album. Guitar solo (only proper one in album?) during True Love is the best thing i've ever heard from Coldplay
  6. After streaming: 1) True love (10/10) one of Coldplay's best ever song, maybe my second favourite after Violet Hill 2) Oceans (10/10) not as good as live but still so beautiful and parachutes-esque 3) Another's Arms (10/10) prefer it live as well but not gunna complain, it's fit as fuck 4) Midnight (10/10) thought it was elevator music at first but it's really grown on me and I consider it an album favourite 5) Ink (9/10) Amazing again but sounds more generic than the other songs, almost as if Timbaland worked on this rather than True Love 6) Always in My Head (9/10) Brilliant album starter, classic Coldplay 7) O (9/10) Easily one of the best songs on the album, but for some reason 7th on my list :') :'D 8) Magic (6.5/10) solid song, nicer at the end with the acoustic guitar, and much more beautiful live 9) A Sky Full Of Stars (4/10) song almost made purely to be played live, doesn't fit in the album IMO

  8. A sky full of stars now!! HOPEFULLY A FEW MORE AFTER
  9. ALWAYS IN MY FUCKING HEAD PLAYING NOW!!!!!! BEAUTIFUL
  10. KiarashYAY replied to Tash's topic in True Love
    pm me aswell!! <3 thanks
  11. There's like no Johnny Boy on it at all :'( Until the end but c'mon not near enough
  12. As is the fashion with Coldplay at the moment, they totally butchered a beautiful song. Oceans will probably be a synth dominated dance track with Eminem on the actual album.
  13. Aziza Brahim - Jurud, for those wondering. Really nice song.
  14. Oceans is beautiful. Genuinely stunning.
