I agree with you, I shouldn't be here. And I agree you have an opinion... It was late at night and I was frustrated I suppose. You have every right to continue doing whatever the hell you want to do, but does it make me (or anybody else) such a horrible person for liking MX (and frankly GS) better than X&Y? Does it make me wrong, and most importantly does it make me any less of a Coldplay fan? And really in the end why the hell does it matter! *sigh* why can't we be friends...

Well no I actually see your point that's the thing, I can really see the difference between the two sides, and I agree the style of the music is quite different, but jeez don't you think it's gone just a bit too far? I understand you have an opinion and you have the complete right to express it in any way you want, I really don't want to get into some sort of fight (it's amazing how much people can say behind their computer screens). But it seems like you guys are getting a little too... Aggressive... For many people's liking. I was literally RAISED on Oldplay, and it's really not this thread that is the most bothersome, it's the constant spam on all the others and how right you all think you are! It's really late here and I have school tomorrow... I honestly really love all the users here and on this thread and I don't want to be angry or anything, so continue on... But screen capping others posts and making fun them? It just was the last straw for me...

It's okay it wasn't just you its just been a collection of people all over just bashing a lot of stuff which is upsetting because things that are crap to coldplayers probably aren't crap to the rest of the world lol. And just because someone doesn't share your exact music taste, doesn't mean their wrong. Honestly I should just stay off this thread the negativity is a little upsetting and is something I really don't need in my life, but I posted in it once so now I keep getting notifications... Honestly I thought I was an oldplayer too because I really enjoy their earlier works (minus X&Y) more than their newer stuff, I do think their more well done, and I do think Coldplay should revisit that sort of music. But good God the amount of hate here just makes me want to denounce all their older work and go complete newplay! I'm not sucking up to this band, I am so picky with music that I don't even know why or how I can even like all their music and listen to all their albums. I dislike pop music with an absolute passion, I totally ditched Imagine Dragons because of their latest album, I now sort of despise Mumford and Sons for changing their signature sound, but good lord I've stuck around for Coldplay. And I did not stick around because of their 'crap' music, I stuck around because I actually think they make GOOD music. I don't know what you're waiting around on the forums for if you despise them so much, get out there and find a new band that's more suited to your music tastes, or take each album for what it is! For example, Mylo Xyloto is quite rocky in many ways, it has such prominent guitar and amazing riffs! Ghost Stories is such an experimental and out there album that does such a fabulous job at BEING AN ALBUM! It tells an amazing story and is so coherent which is absolutely brilliant despite the songs themselves not really standing out. And I mean good lord those two albums aren't viva level, but they're listenable! So sure you can hate, you can fill yourselves up to the brim with nostalgia or whatever the hell you want, just please, please stop denouncing other people's opinions because they aren't yours!

Your English is great, especially for someone who doesn't speak it fluently. English is my first language and I gotta say I have horrible grammar sometimes. I'm quite young, and my 'camping trip' is affiliated with an overnight summer camp (don't know if you have that in Mexico) Where we basically canoe on a network of lakes and rivers in North Eastern Quebec (which is a province in Canada- and I'm not even sure why it's in Quebec- I live in Ontario and Quebec is quite far away) Even in the summer it gets quite cold some nights in Canada. I believe it was two summers ago I got bronchitis on a (shorter) camping trip because a storm hit and it dipped down to 6 degrees Celsius and nobody was prepared for that cold. You have it good- Mexico is gorgeous! I've only been there a couple of times before and only resorts, which was nice I suppose as I was very young, but I think the REAL Mexico (as in the cities, people, culture etc) must be beautiful.

Hey that's for tomorrow!! Smh... Well, I've personally never been a fan of X&Y, not because of the forum or anything just a lot of the songs didn't mesh with me enough and it all seems a little distant. I mean there are some GREAT songs on the album- actually A LOT of great songs, but the album itself to me isn't the best. It's lacking flow and the right rhythm IMO. But honestly this sight makes every album seem like one of their worst excluding AROBTTH and Viva and maaayyybbbe parachutes depending...

Don't forget Maroon 5, One Republic, the Wanted, F.U.N (well their sort of alternative ish), Train...

Okay *takes deep breath* officially, A Head Full of Dreams is an alternative album. You can think it's pop, sure, I'm okay with that do whatever you want, but iTunes or whoever decides what genres albums are, thinks it's alternative. Coldplay IS an alternative band, and even AOAL is nothing close to pop IMO, especially the pop we hear on the radio.

Can we please stop calling Coldplay a pop band! Maroon 5 is pop, Taylor Swift is pop, Adele is pop(ish), Coldplay is definitely alternative and honestly I don't care how 'poppy' you think this album is its still probably alternative. And so far most of their albums (if not all?) are listed on iTunes as alternative so...
