  1. Definitely agree and this is sort of what I meant when I said take a break. Cause he's right if you force it too much you might end up just upsetting yourself even more. Still try to write a lot though as get ideas out of you head will get rid of most of the bad ones lol.
  2. Alright well if you need someone to play for you or with you, I can try to help!
  3. Oh yeah and you said you don't know what to say in your song about the things going on in your life. Well first off remember you don't always need to have super long lyrics (for a song) with a verse chorus then verse etc. You can you create a few ideas and have that be your song. If I can't think of many great ideas and I'm seriously trying to write a song, since I don't want to write trash (unless i'm just flowing ideas) I will write the best ideas. If I get some more I'll come back to it later. But remember not to procrastinate or "settle for now " when you write. Try to finish. Second like someone mentioned earlier write about things around you. There is this wonderful songwriting book by a guy named Pat Pattison (he is a professor at Berklee School of Music) called Writting Better Lyrics that I use sometimes when I try to improve my songs. There is an method/exercise in there called object writing. Set a timer, choose something in your space to write and using your 7 senses (touch, taste, hear, smell, sight, body, balance) write about that object for the allotted time. Stop right when the timer goes off, even is you're in the middle of writing a word. Hope this helps!
  4. This is your lucky day my friend. I'm a fellow lyric writer, though unlike you, it seems, I am more experienced. First things first, do these lyrics accompany some music? Next, to get through writers block, what I do is I either stop writing for a bit or, when I realize I haven't tried to write in a couple of days because of the block, I start writing just songs about random things no matter how bad. It's not like anyone's gonna see, so just keep writing or take a little break and then keep writing some more and eventually you'll get back in the swing of things. Now about the band, if you need someone to play your music I can help if you need it.
  5. This thread looks awesome! I'll send a picture later but I just picked up a few vinyls: Can- Tago Mago Radiohead- Hail to the Thief Ought- Sun Coming Down Blur- Modern Life is Rubbish

  7. I agree I prefer the warmness of the first 3 albums though I do enjoy that Ghost Stories a little as well.
  8. Cause there are others that designate exact and small time periods and their career! It's only fair. There aren't any threads that discuss Coldplays whole discography. Oldplaying (1998-2006 (2009)), Newplaying (2011-present). This thread is SUPPOSED to discuss phases in there whole career in one place, where the outlook is generally (but definetely not always) positive. If it weren't for people like you always arguing about this thread maybe discussions wouldn't be stagnant and maybe we could have some good discussion like in the first few posts. No one was trying to start stuff. If you think i'm lying explain to me why. What would be the point of lying about this, it's pointless. And it is a complete fact that usually the opinions stated by Oldplayers are usually disagrees with and people get mad at them. It's just the way it is for them. Also sorry for my very clear intro when I made the thread and I meant to say Parachutes, not Parachites (it's my favorite album :)). I'm with the others on this just let it go, you really really didn't have to reply.
  9. Yeah but I wanted to put my two cents in because I want to make sure he understands my intents. I don't want him to think wrong of me.
  10. You just attached me and Rickulus though. @I ran away title for Oldplaying was creative, I liked it, I copied it, but NOT to mock him. Half the time, most of us can closely relate to the Oldplayers so why would I mock them. I just made this thread to have a forum that's not strictly one era, like the Oldplaying and Newplaying are (not that that's bad). Just because I copy a name doesn't mean I'm mocking, as mocking has negative connotations and I'm not attempting to express negativity. Also how can you tell the passive-aggressiveness based on a title? Passive-aggressiveness is found in a tone of voice, not words. Alright now we can stop this childish arguing that wasn't even started by us, as we were being "yelled" at (through words of course).
  11. NO this is not made to mock. You obviously didn't read what I said.
  12. Hey @getithom its coming to Indianapolis. Pretty much confirmed.
  13. They can't just deny someone's request. Plus they haven't been to South America for like 10 years so I think those people are happy either way.
  14. And that is exactly the point of this thread. Didn't mean to cause an argument.
  15. Él entente, sí. Alguno bandas no ententen en lo más mínimo.
  16. Exactly. Me and Ye olde rickulus meant no harm we were just poking a little fun at the Oldplayers because they have a...reputation of saying stuff that some don't agree with. But we didn't make it because we want people on our side to take over lol or because we hate everyone who doesn't like all coldplay music but I mean there's a thread for the old days and the new days so I think it's nice that there is a thread for all days and to just discuss what we like and sometimes dislike about all the songs instead of be specific on one topic or era.
  17. Thanks for the suggestions @I ran away! These are great! Keep em coming
  18. Is there anywhere where I can get the full performance. Btw I agree with @prospekt46 and @I ran away
