We're so spoiled...women especially, but men too. When you look at the products we use to look good, smell good etc, and how damaging they are, not only to the planet, but to our own bodies, it's scary. I'm a clean person. If you meet me, you won't have to hold your nose,lol, and my hair's nice & shiney, but I don't cover my skin with crap. It's really not that hard to scale it back.

 

Mind you, I'm still totally reliant on my computer, and a printer that uses really TOXIC ink, to keep my buusiness going. So I'm not preaching...yet.:)

Yes, I know what you mean, Tracie! I just use some natural soaps (after I found out about the phathalates in the synthetic soaps).. And even these computers - some very toxic plastics go into them, and it need not be so.. (and then they wind up in some ditch in Ghana or elsewhere, only to be washed into the sea with the next rainstorm..ground up by wave action, and screwing up ocean life.., and fish that we eat, and so forth..) Hmm.. what about the soy-based inks? Or do you use laser printers and such? It can be hard to find materials that will replace what you use, if they're prohibitively expensive, or unavailable.. I'm 100% for better materials, and I'm glad you are too!;)

The modern world is kind of predicated on these systems we have, and a lot of the technologies developed in the 50's for synthetic chemicals.. many of which are proving to be less than the boon they were once thought to be. But it's like a gearwork that needs new gears - great resistance to change comes from most of those industries, that's for sure!!

So more soap-box speeches from me, so I'll quiet down now.

Haha, I love how people know what I'm talking about. Well its really quite short and hair grows 1/2 an inch a month, so in 2 years it'll be 1ft longer.. and it's to my chin right now.. so it actually won't be that long.
