colds make us stronger, build up our body's immune system. No fun tho when we've got one; I recommend green tea with a plum added, and lots of rest;).

Ugh yes, all the hassles just to go from place to place, it's really not the answer.. how much of it is done just to justify jobs, I often wonder.

So we struggle to regain control of our country here from the monstrosity in power, in the meantime, sorry for the inconvenience and be glad Canada's mounties are polite!

They've benefited from post-911 paranoia. And they're trained with the same mentality as the military. It's a shame, and all the cavity searches, bull-headed treatment, full-body scans in the world won't prevent more attacks, only make the average person's life more difficult. I wonder what it is that will finally break the current system and clear the way for the much needed overhaul...

Current system breaking from its own extremes as we speak. Most harsh responses are directed inwardly, I think a lot of it is to put on a show, mostly to cover for the bosses mistakes. But there are the true believers, the paranoids who think it's effective; but the real matter is to deal with the underlying problems, not just superficial checks and all that, since basically we've let the .01% run things and get us to this point, so it will be a real battle to undue the damage and reinstall people-power.

It took the clear and massive failures during the late 60's to engender citizens to rise up, so it seems we are at a moment in time much the same.

Yes, the blue meanies like fear and paranoia, gives them a sense of purpose, and what a thrill it is to shock people! I feel like watching the Beatles cartoon right about now... Yellow Submarine suddenly fits our times again!:sunny:

A friend who goes to the U.S. for business said he needs letters of invitation along with his passport to get in, even though he's not endangering American jobs. And don't even try going across to play gigs anymore! (I tell them I'm going to visit friends and the guitar's just for personal enjoyment.) We agreed last night in our conversation that something extreme is going to have to happen. Like the fall of the Berlin wall, the Velvet Revolution and recently the Arab Spring. The Occpuy movement need to adopt some clear goals!

New sources of renewable energy, co-ops instead of corporations and building sustainable cities are just a beginning, and sadly won't change the bosses greedy nature. But it's refreshing to see these things coming to prominence!:sunny:

^Been there, done that! I've only met one guard over the years who didn't have that attitude.(Same thing...no offense to Americans on here.)

Yeah same here, only one or two I think..

You know, I've never actually seen a real mountie in person!

I've seen them in Ottawa and during the Musical Ride, but I've never run into them in the line of duty, lol.

> Well I think it's only proper to have an invitation.:smug: And a passport too - they're such pretty things, one must have the royal seal stamped on the invitation! Of course he's not endangering American jobs, but hey, we've got to make him feel special somehow!:laugh3: Oh, and you artists - you're nothing but trouble, you might bring joy and happiness, or a sense of free expression, you know that's been banned by the newer bluer meanies!:P Artists, poets, revolutionaries, free thinkers - how are we suppose to run an effective totalitarian empire with people like you corrupting our youth? ;) The Occupy Movement needs to get some clear goals, hm.. well there are the Amendments proposed, the demand for an equitable economic system, demanded accountability for the crimes which occurred on Wall Street, a demand for real reform and oversight in the markets, more collectively owned enterprises, like worker-owned companies, credit unions, co-ops and the like. Declare that money isn't free speech, corporations are not people, drive the influence machine out of government. I keep thinking the amendments, a set of clear laws coinciding with the amendments to open up the elections process and end the buying of elections, hold fire to the feet of the politicians to get it passed. I think what we want is honest government, honest business practices, fair economics; making that happen is the challenge. How to move the capital towards diversely held companies that are either worker-owned or have workers as major stakeholders, that is one question; or reform current companies to make them democratically controlled by the stakeholders. But if enough pressure is put to bear, I am sure major reform will happen; since adopting laws to ensure diversity of ownership and prevent oligopolies from existing are a matter of applying great pressure via sheer numbers to voters on office holders and office seekers. What do you feel would be effective goals and a process towards change? Harper's government could use a little prodding, hm???:P

Yeah same here, only one or two I think..

:laugh3: Well, I gather they're more prevalent in the far north, so that's understandable. You'll have to visit the vast hinterlands of Canada!

Some of our Occupiers up here don't seem to have those answers. They almost seem content to camp out, complain and party. And that's not meant as a reflection of the movement as a whole.

The trouble is that Corporations are, by legal definition, "people". They have exactly the same legal rights! THAT has to change, and those law-makers in Washington, and yes, Ottawa, won't be in any hurry. Sorry to be devil's advocate here . I want to see those laws changed, just saying it won't be easy, any more than it was easy in Eastern Europe 22 years ago, or for the Arabs this year. It may take more than singin' songs and a-carryin' signs. ;)

Yes, please SOMEONE shake Harper!!

The Mounties being prevalent up North is a bit of a stereotype, lol. They really are an affective law-enforcement body. Too bad Disney owned the traditional Mountie image for a while and gave Americans such a narrow view of them.

Pepperland is a tickle of joy on the blue belly of the universe.

> Well, most movements start this way, but they do have an idea of what affects and afflicts them. Was it all that different in the 60's? (footage I recall was about the same, yet movements got going in time). Answers will come in time, lots of motivational speakers who can tie it all together, hopefully.

> Corporations are legal fictions indeed, curtains for their emperors to hide behind.. granted their powers by their owners to hide their identities and float campaigns as they do - the Plutocrats useful devices. But when they become as embedded as ticks in the back of the dog, it will take some doing to remove them. Yes, I would imagine it will be a fight to get things to change, but singing and painting signs helps! For the public, if there are any in doubt, need to see what's really going on; occasionally our press actually shows the peaceful protests, hope yours does better!;) There are a few good leaders in the media that can tie the problems together and offer solutions; I only offer amendments and ask for laws which protect and make fair the process, but am no expert on the problems. Did you see the way the Occupiers drummed out Governor Walker from Chicago's Union League Club! Quite the rouse of one political crony by a unified crowd.

Yes, please SOMEONE shake Harper!!

:laugh3: Now now, he's only doing his (corporate) job.

But it's true! I've seen Dudley Do-right & Nell, and sure enough, the setting is wayy up there! :P (actually I did see a bit on Canada's mounties in a National Geo article, so they do play an important role as peace-makers during the long winters..) I suppose they are, just nice to keep some childhood images alive, but Disney help craft that image? I don't recall them being there with Mickey and Minnie?? Anyhow, it's a good image, even if it's not accurate. At least something to aspire to. ;)

Yes, Disney did indeed buy the rights to theimage. I believe we've since re-acquired it...I hope, lol. And as a Fedaral force, they serve to perform many of the same duties as your FBI. But I stand corrected in one regard: Dudley IS 100% REAL!

Thanks for the youtube share. This gives me hope!:D

I was infatuated by your sins. The world was your playground and everyone merely toys to you. Your contempt for the laws of our society and mind.

Excellent Post!;) ^^This explains my neighbors, who like to speak authentic Western Gibberish!:laugh3: I think they just like to throw it back in the face of intellectuals, and boy, do the politicians have them in mind with their messages.. uncanny in his accuracy on the assessment of our political and cultural life. Wise sages are seasoned with reason.

I knew you'd appreciate it, Chuck!:)

I should have gone today instead of sitting here bored.
