starfish was the name they four had before coldplay..

 

but they thought i sucked, so they got coldplay from a friend's band.., whom they were always competing who was the best =P

 

his friend may have had a band.. but it wasnt named coldplay. It was actually a children's book that his friend had... titled Coldplay... blah blah blah.. a collection of poems and short stories and such... I forget the entire title... but it was in fact a book. :cool:

No, their friend's band was indeed named Coldplay. but separate, "Cold Play". And Cold Play had taken the name from the book of poems you mention that was named "Child's Refections; Cold Play." Or something like that. I've actually tried to find that book with no luck. :/

i was just talking about coldplay to my mum, and she asked me about its name

"cold as in.., cool? and play as in.., to play?" so i said yeah, i mean, she wanted to be sure she understood the words in english..

 

so she was like "so, what does it mean? to play cool?"

 

and u know what? i couldnt answerr hre..
