That comment was aimed at "Swallowed" - not you!!

"Ageist" is where age is used as a way of insulting people (whether it's young or old), and there has been far too much of that going on!!

Joking is fine, for example: "You old git", "You whippersnapper", "Rugrat" etc.

However, people shouldn't assume that anyone should act in a particularly way because they are a certain age. Everyone is different............................. :)

Exactly!! That's the point I was making. There seems to be a lot of stuff that goes on in that direction that most WOULDN'T be allowed or condoned if it was used in relation to creed, colour, disability etc. Attitudes need to change!! :)

i don't think ageism is particularly hurtful though because its not personal ... something like racism can be very personal and upsetting
