Also, Chris said X&Y is a cooler way of saying ying and yang, or hope and despair. well, they both make up a sort of symbolic ying and yang if you think about it; the space being above us, and the sea below us. space could represent hope, because we look to the sky or horizon when we're thinking about our future and having hope or whatever. the sea could represent despair because people can get lost in the sea, thus the title 'Swallowed In The Sea'.

Maybe he's not a very good song writer. I like how I can relate to a lot of his songs, but he has run out of metaphors and such. ;)
