for me all the 3 cd's are soo diferent that they shouldn't be compared

And as for wether or not X&Y is their last album, i don't think so. I think they all enjoy what they do and i am sure that they will continue to evolve their music and put out at least 2 or 3 albums.

Personally, i think that they have the potential of becoming a long lasting band, like U2, but only time will tell.

Chris might be paranoid before the release of each album, claiming this 'just might be the last one'...

But seriously, I think Coldplay will be around for years.

Perhaps not as long as U2 or so, but at least for 3 or 4 more albums, so say..... 10 years.

I think they're gonna do a damn good 4th album... put out a greatist hits and then that's it.

They released 3 albums which sold shitloads. Clearly nobody's waiting for a greatest hits album, because they already own Coldplay's complete back catalogue (well, perhaps not all the b-sides)

I really don't think it will be unless someone in the band dies or something. And Chris also said to some newspaper that he owes everything (his family) to Coldplays success. I higlhy doubt HE would get bored. ;)

I think the same about they r going to be round here for some years more, but i think they're gonna be LIKE u2, don't know why, but it's just my opinion. People from all the world say thay are 'tha band of the moment', 'the next u2', so they won't give up like that.. they will make some others albums.

I really dont want to see them go but...its about there time to retire. Once they get their moneys worth they will be good. And thats what x and y did for them. Unless they really love what they do. I say they keep it up! Ill be waiting for another album!!!! :dozey:

i hope not! even i will pray for it. i wish they had at least more than 5 album and be the biggest band ever in the world! and they all young! still had long futures

well, their contract is 5 albums, so definitely two more albums. Unless the Live 2003 cd is considered another album.

 

I hope that they are around long enough that my children will love them.

 

They will most definitely take a hiatus as it would be good for their sanity and besides 3 are married, 1 has a child, and i'm sure the others want families as well.
