I dont know if anyone really cares about this , but i just had to say something about it , Tom Cruise was on the today show the other day saying that ppl that take prescription drugs are "glib" ( whatever the hell that means in scientology language ) here's the conversation :

Tom Cruise was all smiles talking about his movie and his fiancee on NBC’s “Today” show, but the smile disappeared when Matt Lauer mentioned Cruise’s earlier criticism of Brooke Shields for taking anti-depressants.

Cruise got very serious and kept saying “Matt, Matt, Matt, Matt” every time Lauer said he knew people who were helped by anti-depressants.

Shields took them for her post-partum depression. As a Scientologist, Cruise doesn’t believe in those kinds of drugs or therapy of any kind.

At one point Cruise told Lauer, “You’re glib” and said Lauer didn’t know what he was talking about. The star launched into a detailed discussion of the use of the prescription drug Ritalin.

“It's very impressive to listen to you,” Lauer replied, “because clearly, you've done the homework. And you know the subject.”

“And you should,” Cruise retorted. He also told Lauer, “You don’t know the history of psychiatry. I do.”

he NBC anchor told Cruise he had known people who had been helped by psychiatric drugs. Cruise then accused Lauer of advocating the use of Ritalin.

Lauer asked Cruise how he could get more people to understand Scientology, the controversial religion practiced by Cruise and other celebrities like John Travolta.

“You just communicate about it," Cruise said. “If I want to know something, I go and find out. Because I don't talk about things that I don't understand.”

If there are any scientologists i sugest u dont read this thread . i do respect your religion and beliefs cause i was once one too but i have to say something about this... Why dont scientologists trust prescription drugs ? they dont even take aspirin or tylenol cause they say its a "DRUG"!

Dont they know that drugs have to go through TONS AND TONS of tests before they can be aproved? dont they know that we sometimes have inbalances in our brain that cause us to have anxiety and even ( in the worst cases) have allucinations? And the only way to help balance our brain are prescription drugs that by the way most of them are extracts that come from plants and stuff from nature ... HELLO ! i dont get it ?

I dont have a degree in this but i speak out of experience and i know someone who lost their son and was in depression for months until she started taking zoloft ( which is an anti-depressant ) and she says now that is was the only thing that helped her get through that difficult time ( of course also with group therapy and weekly visits to her psycologist and psyciatrists, however the hell you spell it ) How can you tell someone that they should'nt take zoloft cause its a drug!? And its bad for you .. bla bla bla ....

i dont know if this interests anyone here ... just wanted to share my thoughts ...

oops i hit the blue box and it said the post has been sent to 12 moderators , sorry i thought that was a color change or something ... lol :/

hes fucking nuts... i read an article about him in a magazine... i had no idea he was such a fanatic... then, the next day i see the today show and i was pissed. i dont have any respect for him anymore. My good friend would have killed herself if she didnt get antidepressants

I used to take anti-depressants so what he said is bull *beep*

Whatever Tom. Taking hard drugs is bad of course, but prescription drugs are fine by me. As long as they don't become addictive.

scientologists are brain washed... once my uncle had recieved a phone call in my house of someone from the scientology center( he was a scientologist at the time ) and when i picked up the phone in the other room they had some weird music playing in the background while they where talking to him , and he had to leave all of a sudden , said that it was an emergency , we all concluded that they were brain washing him with that music, weird :freak:

Wouldn't surprise me!! I suggest it was the music of Wacko Jacko - after all, those fans of his all look like zombies. Perhaps they were used as guinea pigs!! :P

Stress often results in chemical imbalances in the brain. When the brain becomes overactive and emotions such as fear, anger, guilt, or insecurity occur constantly a state of stress occurs in the body. Each of these emotions has a unique hormonal response. (This is discussed in full detail in the article titled, "Rate of Destruction" posted on this web-site.) Anger, for example, releases a hormone response along the lines of flight or fight. When emotions such as these continuously stimulate the brain, it becomes overactive and releases more chemical signals. These signals prompt the same emotional responses, which in turn cause the brain to repeat the chemical signal, resulting in a vicious cycle. This cycle greatly stresses the body, and is very unnatural. The body goes into a state of siege, called adaptation, in order to balance these chemical reactions in the brain.

Dr. Bob always used orthomolecular medicine in healing. Orthomolecular medicine uses non-toxic, natural substances, which are safe in a wide range of uses and doses. These substances consist mainly of herbs, vitamins, and minerals. One such substance is Dilantin, which Dr. Bob recommended for many mental difficulties involving hyperactive, compulsive thought, particularly those involving negative emotions such as guilt, fear, anger, and insecurity. The Dilantin reduces, and may even eliminate, this hyperactivity of the brain. Through fifty years of extensive and intensive use, Dilantin has established its safety. In many cases, it is able to provide peace for those in desperate need.

uugggghhhhhhhhh.

As one of the millions of people who take antidepressants, I really want to be pissed off at Tom Cruise for being such an arrogant asshole. But I can't, because he's speaking out of total ignorance. Despite his claims to the contrary, he doesn't have a damn clue what he's talking about (that is to say, what it's like to actually be one of the people who are being helped by the drugs he so callously condemns). He'd be better off if somebody just explained to him why he's so wrong than he would be if we all just gave him the middle finger salute he deserves.

Of couse, he seems to be well beyond reason at this point anyway, so what's the point?

to answer Reilly's questions in a previous thread... about the existence of Aliens.... yes.. they do exist, take a look at Tom Cruise.. he's been abducted by aliens.. they've used him, tested on him, and now how proven how stupid people really an be. I dont know if anyone here believes in Scientology... but if you do, no disrespect.. its you belief, just as many dont agree with the Catholicism (and thats cool with me.. ).. but you have to admit.. he IS acting a bit weird... un poco loco en el coco.. no??

I hope he wakes up soon.

I reckon we should start a "Coldplay" religion. I'm sure it'd be HUGE!! It's certainly like a "religious" experience every time I see them!! :)
