College...

Featured Replies

So.. I got accepted to my college 4 or 5 months ago and ever since I've been sorta kinda excited, except not at the same time (if that makes sense..). But anyways, I got to the college, went on the tour, did the orientation activites and etc. I'm usually a very depressed/moody person, so I don't really go out of my way to talk to people and make friends but.. it just seemed like everyone else around me was having so much fun and I was the only one REALLY depressed. Just thinking about all the memories of childhood and how nothing is ever going to be the same again made me sick to my stomache. Also, the dorms at college are so fricking gross, I don't know if I'm going to be able to take it..

Did anyone else feel like this at all before they went to college? It felt like I was the only one not happy to go at orientation and the only one dreading it :( Didn't anyone else feel like this too? :/

When I went to 6th form college I thought it was hard to make

friends, But everyones different. Don't worry you're not going

there for other people anyway you're going to get an education

and better yourself.

You'll probs look back on this when you've gone and wonder

what you were so worried about! We all do it.

But try your hardest as you don't want to look back

on your time at college and think you had no fun

just because you felt a little down.

Head up high, and keep smiling! :D

Some people are better than others at hiding how absolutely terrified they are. Most people are having similar sorts of feeling but are hiding them away.

Daner, hang in there man. Take college one step at at time. You will see just how great it is once you get settled in. It is normal to be intimidated and uncertain about this time in your life. Keep thinking positive and drop out all negative thoughts. Focus on the good, not on the bad :)

ok.. thanks for the advice guys

Yo Daner what college you off to? I just graduated too and yea it's gonna be sad leaving everyone I am close to here at home but...there's also the terrifying/exciting thought of a new start, a place where all the bullshit from high school gets tossed out the window and people finally (hopefully) start to lighten up and be themselves you know? I'm probably in denial about the sad parts of leaving, or at least putting them off til late August, but at the same time I'm just tryin my best to make the most out of this summer

Yeah I can relate. I just graduated college and am off to grad school in the fall and it looks like I'm going to be far away from everyone and am not sure quite what to expect yet. Ive never made friends easily so it might be tough at first but at the same time Im looking forward to a new environment and new experiences and being on my home for the first time. Wakedemon what college are you off to? I only ask because i notice youre from VA and I'm from MD. Are you going close or far away?

The thought of being out on my own still makes me sick to my stomach sometimes and I have been away from home 2 years now. But the pros definetely outweigh the cons!!! I think you will learn to love this time :D

Hang in there!

I live in Richmond and im headed to Wake Forest, so its only about 4 hours from home, and within that range of a drive to old friends, where did u graduate from?

lol, well making anyone a coldplay fan isn't too hard (unless they're really retarded white trash that listens to 50 cent  ). GL with ur gf :/

Good luck to you all who are entering to the University. Including me. :D

damn ive been arguing w/ steppenwolf on other threads grrr...fine good luck

again im jp. Now the Coldplay conversion haha...she knew i was nuts about them and they were half of what i listen to anyways, so she just laughed at me for a while, then as a part of her graduation gift i burned her a CD with some tracks that i picked that would hopefully win her over (to Coldplay, I already won her over myself  ), and it turns out she really liked it and I wouldnt let her forget it haha....yea we have a lot of fun, i hope this works out. only a few hours away, we shall see...we shall see

I used to argue a looot about injustice in the world... most of the time agains't the U.S. policy and capitalism (even in this board) but at the end you get used to it, that's the way world society works, there's no need to complain though.

hah am i the only one who watches ali g here? nvm then
