Featured Replies

I admit I was trying to get into my ex's email and it locked his account out. Anyone else had this happen? How long does it stay locked out?

:stunned: JUSTINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thats a big no no!! Most likely 24hours.. :embarrased:

Does he have to create a new password? I mean after the 24, will he know that someone went into it?

I don't think it will prompt him to make a new password.. but he'll wonder how he got locked out... :stunned: but I can't be sure... knowing microsoft.. he'll probably be alerted. :embarrased:

you need a hug... c'mere... *hug* I know why you did it...... :embarrased:

Ok, maybe I can contact msn then..and get this sorted out?

I don't think he'll find out unless he tries to log on in the next 24 hours and if he does he mightjust think MSN is playing up again. :)

Well.. when I look now it says specifically, lockout. You or someone else has been trying to log in with incorrect password, so he will know that it's me. And ya, he will probably go in in the next 24 hours.

I realized that already. But thanks for bringing it up again.

Do you think he'll confront you about it? If he does just deny all knowledge and pretend to be insulted the very suggestion.

Good luck

Won't work. He is away for the weekend, but I am sure he will check his email tonight anyway. He will never trust me again if he finds this out.

woah.. wait a minute... I thought he moved out?? Am I missing something??

Ok.. we are taking this off the board.. too personal now.

Anyway.. ANY ADVICE? Seriously, this is really getting to me.

may be he didn't loged in his account since long time ago (3 months without log in there). and it has been 'deleted' if he try to log in there he can re-activate his account.

may be he made a 'secure list' and don't list there your mail address so you'll can get in contact with him.

also can be that his account is full of messages and he needs to delete some messages.

or may be somebody tried to get into his account and wrote a wrong password more than 3 times... so in that case sorry but i don't know what to do :(

Err, it was me that locked it out.

lock yourself out of your own email address. that way it looks like someone else did it.

Yah, that crossed my mind too, but.. we would be the only two that it happened to, seem awfully conveient and I am a bad lier, so if he asked me, it would show.

I just locked my friend out in sheer boredem so you could say a hacker is on the loose :/

Well, If you know some of his details, You could try and do his secret question?

Good luck anywho (:

No, then it would ask to give a new password.

OK So.. I think I have remedied this.

I made up a new hotmail account to test this whole thing, A friend of mine tried to guess the password unsuccessfullly of course. and after a couple of attempts it said login failed. at the top of the browser it says lockout. But Ii can still get into it with the correct password..and I didnt get any email telling me that someone has been trying to access the account.

:P :P :P

Maybe deleting cookies would work.

Although I really don't know!
