Question...

Hi! I have a question. I've heard somewhere that Tim Rice-Oxley from Keane knew Chris and that they were friends. (And that he was asked to join coldplay at some point. That band would have been AWESOME.) On the biography on the site, it says that they got the idea for the name Coldplay from a guy named Tim. So, uh, could it be him? I know they're millions of Tim's in the world. And sorry if this has been answered before.

well once i saw on mtv that chris asked the piano guy from keane (dont know his name) to be in coldplay but he didnt want to..so...

Whoa, really?

That's weird, hehe.

I know!! lol....it supposed that chris and the piano guy from keane went to the same university so...

Tim and Chris are indeed friends.. I am not sure if they got the name from Tim Oxley.. but it was a friend of theirs who had the name Coldplay first.. and got it from a book of childrens poems. :)

no they got the name from another band who used it and didnt like it and there was another tim in that bAND GEEZ

but the other band got their name from a childrens poetry book GEEZ

yeah but they thought the tim who was in the first coldplay was the guy from keane which he wasnt

Sorry, i asked debs some time ago, and she said that Tim Rice-Oxley was asked to play in coldplay, but he didn't accept. There is another guy called Tim too who was going to name his band Coldplay (and, yes, he took it from a book of poems for children). ~The End~

^ha...so mtv does tell the true!! great
