So what, now you don't want to know how I met them, fine. I met them when I bought their record..blah blah blah

I still have in mind the moment I first saw Yellow on MTV, it was the UK chart and I was impressed because that was a very strange song for the time and so was the video, I mean it was really unusual to see such a simple video when anyone else was full of girls or hyperproduced: Chris walking on the shore :nice: ...and I fell in love with that song  then came Trouble...and everything else.

Anyway I don't think I've been a really great fan, it took me a lot to be obsessed (maybe it's not the proper word :P ) with them, but now I am, and I am happy I can say "hey I know them since they released Yellow" :D because I'm almost as old as them so I'm growing up with their songs

Last year I saw them live, two wonderful concerts, and I must thank one of my friends who know them since 1999, he saw them in UK in one summer festival, when they were still unknown and he's really a great fan...funny thing in november he was finally able to take a picture with Chris, after years of chasing

Well...firs i heard trouble(i think on MTV), and i thought that it's a cool song.....when ROBTTH came out my friend bought it first....and i borowd the cd, and for 2 MONTHS the cd staied by me!!! she freekd out!!!!!!!i mean who wouldnt?????????the rest is history....

I think it's really awesome how lots of people have said how when they first heard Coldplay's songs it seemed like a lot of them were 'written for them'.

Thats one of the best things about Coldplay for me. I think its bloody amazing how even when there are 20,000+ people in the room with you listening to their music, it still manages to feel so personal, like they are singing the songs just for you.

Well, thats how i felt anyway. :)

Fuck i love those boys!

i can't more agree with you :D

youre totally right. i think the same ;)

I think it's just amazing that there are people in this world that are that talented. :)

i used to casually listen to a few of their songs when i had my old computer (fucking windows 98 piece of shit fucking broke  ) a couple of years ago. then, i kind of took a one and a half break from pretty much all music newer than 1980 (i'll call it my midteen crisis ). then last june, my online friend (who shall remain nameless) sent me all of their albums through aim and i listened. a lot. and then danielle (an_cat on here) made me (yes, made me) buy the live 2003 dvd. i just couldn't go back after that. :D

Me too, its incredible! I never thought i'd come across an artist/band who could move me the way they can. (or make me so obsessed  )

Music is so powerful, and Coldplay reminded me that.

I bought their album AROBTTH in London on holidays. I thought "okay, have a try at it."........then came Parachutes and then X&Y, I visited 2 concerts...and so on and so on..I am fanatic

Its cool knowing lots of other people did the same as me! Bought AROBTTH, loved it so bought Parachutes, and then were totally hooked. :)

I find it interesting that most of you seem to have discovered the band with AROBTTH. When it came out, a lot of Coldplay's fans hated it and thought it was the worse thing ever. Now most people here rate it as their favorite record. Jebus now I feel so frickin old.

Really!? :stunned:

When i bought it i thought it was incredible. Thats really suprising, all i heard was good stuff about it from others too. But then again i wasnt on the net then so i didnt hear much from other fans.

OMG the uproar when it came out. Because Parachutes was so mellow I guess you could say and AROBTTH was more rockin, people went insane! Said they were sellouts and washed up. Some of the same reactions that X & Y got when it came out. It's over produced blah blah blah :dozey: Who wants a band to release the same record every year?...oh yeah Nickelback fans.

Who wants a band to release the same record every year?...oh yeah Nickelback fans.

Thats exactly what i was about to say!!!

When i bought Parachutes, i did notice straight away that it was much more mellow, and so i suppose it must have been quite a shock for the fans when AROBTTH came out, but its a fucking fantastic album, so i dont see the big deal.

As soon as I heard X&Y i knew there'd be a big fuss about it

I love the progression their music has made. That first night they leaked X & Y on the Coldplayer, my jaw hit the floor when I heard Low. Me likey :D
