and "lócaistí"----- "locusts", right? ('cos my favourite band is from Ireland - The Frames, and they sing their song Locusts in Irish, it sounds so perfect! :) )

Tá fáilte romhat/You're welcome!

Well, I dont really listen to the frames...so I dont know that song. :/

Dia Dhuit Séamus!!!!   ("teacher" how could I say it?)

Conás atá tú?? :)

A teacher is 'múinteoir' in Irish....but you would say 'a mhúinteoir', when addressing your teacher. :D

I just wanted to show you that I know another word

..joke... ;)

Hmmmm, 'the end of the countryside'?? Thats what it means literally. :/

Where did you hear it Ivona?

Oh, well thats what it means literally, it could have a different meaning though.

I just looked at the lyrics to the song, and the lyrics are all in Irish. I always love hearing songs in Irish! :D

me too :D :wink3:

Dia Dhuit, mhúnteoir!

Well, let's have another lesson!

ehm, what about these sentences:

I'm a student

I like listening to music, reading books, archery, English......

I'm .... years old

....that's enough for now I guess :)

Okey dokey....here goes.

Im a student - Dálta(student) atá ionam (i am). You can only use 'atá ionam' when you talk about something you physically are, not emotional. For example if you're saying that you are sad, you would use 'tá mé'. > Tá mé brónach (sad).

I've probably made it more confusing then it is...but I think that you must understand the difference. Tell me if you don't understand! :)

I like listening to music, reading books, archery, English - Taitníonn (it appeals) ceol (music) , leitheóireacht (reading), boghdóireacht (archery, I had to look that one up in the dictionary. :P ) agus Béarla (english) liom ( to me).

I am ... years old. - Tá mé .... bliana d'aois.

:D

dia dhuit seamus :)

conas ata tú?

Dia dhuit, Magda! I haven't talked to you in ages. :(

Tá mé go maith! :)

Conas atá tú?

Okey dokey....here goes.

Slán go fóil

Thank You - Go raibh maith agat.

Monday - Dé Luain

Tuseday - Dé Mairt

Wednesday - De Céadaoin

Thursday - Dé Deardaoin

Friday - Dé hAoine

Saturday - De Sathairn

Sunday - Dé Domhnach

Slán!

Eanair, Feabhra, Márta, Aibreán, Bealtaine, Meitheamh, Iúil, Lúnasa, Mean Fómhair, Deireadh Fómhair, Samhain, Nollag.
