Featured Replies

I don't know how it is called in english but t is today......

And I think it is a shame that it does exist.....

I mean......people always use to say that women are accepted in society.....and that they have the same rights as men nowadays and bla.....

but why then this day?Does it mean that there still has to be a day especially for women?

Are the other days men's days then?

God..........

i dont mind :smug: hehe but i thought that was yesterday

It is so that you don't forget how lucky you are to live in a country where you are equal.

Well..............maybe I'm lucky to live in a country where we are all equal....but I think then we must get rid of a day like this here!

Yay! Women! :D

No seriously...enjoy your special day! I guess we men have one sometime as well?

Very very very true...

It's just a hypocritical shit. If we women were considered equal to men, then this wouldn't be needed.

I don't think women or men are superior to one another. So no need for this. I just hate it.

yea... well, the history is important, but the celebrations are annoying to us who haven't lived through it I think. Such as black history month for us. I think the history is great. Martin Luther King Jr. is one of the greatest men this country has known. But I don't understand black history month... it's like a holiday I feel left out on ...

Julia do you know why there is an International women's day?

In 8 of march of 1810 a guy used to own a textile factory, and on that day, because of all the abuse and all the women that worked there decided to start a strike. When they did, the guy closed the factories doors and burned it, killing everyone inside it. 100 years later these women were remebered because of their bravery for fighting against the society they were living. A while after there was the first Womens World Conference in Mexico and I think it was in 1975 when the UN created the International Womens day. I think its like someone said above, for us we just have to be thankfull that we live in countries where we are treated as 'equals', but imagine the countries where they are treated like an object, or an animal... where they mutilate women and stuff... I think this day is for us to remember fight for our rights.

Here in Brazil, the big campaign is not about congratulating women, is to show them that being hit by men and being abused is not right, and that they should stand up against it...

And Happy International Womens day to all ladies here...

:kiss:::kiss:

one day for women and all year long for men :shifty:

yay! everyone congratulated me today :nice:
