Reilly
Julia's thread just kinda made me think of something I used to think about a lot, how most of us are just working to live. As kids and growing up we are told to pursue the things that make us happy, but how can all of us possibly do that? Some people have to push the petrol pumps, others have to box frozen chicken, some have to check paper quota's in a shitty office. We cant all be happy in our jobs, and I'd say that 99% of us are not. Do you prosper happily from being in the work or schoolplace? Or is it a matter of just waiting until you get out of there and dreading the thought of going back in?
Reilly
In hindsight this could have gone into Julia's thread, I re-read it and realised it wasnt much different from the point I'm making. I think. I was just afraid of taking it off topic.

Gitta Rensolo
Well.......................you are talking about the thread I created today right? And I don't think this is almost the same......don't know.....I think this is more specified on work....mine was more about the fact that you are like a machine at days AND at nights you are a human being...... I thought more about the nights when I made it.......heheh.......so this is the patner thread!...hahah...... To this topic: Well.....................I still go to school....but at saturdays I work....I have anewspper round and sell the things in a bakery van...... ok...I can decide on my own when and at which time I do the newspaper round..... but with the baker van....well.......at the beginning I didn't like it.....it was exactly like you described at the beginning of the thread..... But now......I really like it...I know exactly what to do there...my colleague is nice.....and so it is no problem anymore.... And when I think about choosing a job/education when I've finished school.....I first think about my interests and what I want to do....and not what brings most money...... My dad is not that plesed with that but I don't mind...and actually he says he only can give advices..... But I agree with you when you say most of the people do not like their work...and are happy when they can go home in the evenings..... and when I think about that....god......we only live once......and "waist" a life with stupid work....no....no one deserves this...... even unemployed people should get the chance to get a job which is fun for them.....and not like many think that they should be satisfied with what they get....that they should be happy that they even have a job..... Reilly
To answer the question, I do get a bit out of my work at school. I enjoy my subject, Film and Sociology, but it will lead me to journalism and that is SO boring. Local, little, shitty news that I dont care about, ever. Gahd. Ugh. UHG As for work, I'm a steward at Newcastle United football games, so I get to watch premiership football and get paid for it. Which is awful ;)
