How You See the World V1 Video

Featured Replies

Hey guys...

For my video production class, we have to make a music video to any song of our choosing. I really want to do How You See the World. I see it as a black and white video for some reason.... but I need a story for the video.

Any suggestions? Let your creative juices flow. The more abstract, the better.

lyrically version 1 is not that deep as the 2nd one (less politics lines,in my opinion)

maybe you should make the video about all those worldwide problems (AIDS,poverty, make trade fair lol,etc...)?

There's so much to be scared of

And not much to make sense of

Are you running in a circle

You can’t be too careful

story: a kid (10-14 years old) is travelling around the world and sees everything (wars, poverty, all those natural problems etc.). and with the time he is becoming sader and sader, but he know there's always a hope and in the end of the clip he's becoming a member of MTF or ONE campaign

I agree black and white is good.

I would start the video with a close up the central character's eye. Cut to the lips of the person as they mouth the words. Zoom out, and keep the image out of focus so that it appears blurry, but you can make out what is there. you would have the central character sitting on a chair, in a totally empty grey looking room. By the end of the first verse, they get up and walk out of the room.

The door opens and right outside the room is an extremely busy street. Picture like times square or something. All the people are still blurry, but the commodities and brand names and signs are clear. the main character walks through crowds of people as they bump into him. He is walking in the opposite direction of everyone else. Eventually he falls, in the crowd, and the last shot is him looking up at a blurry sky. He opens his eyes and sees the sky again, except this time he gets up and is in the middle of an open plain.

In the distance he sees a person, who gets clearer and clearer as he gets nearer to her. She is in color. And as the last chorus starts (with the piano) he is running towards her, and just as he arrives and reaches out to her, the sudden end of the song arrives as he tries to touch her and realizes there is no one there, and looks up at the world in black and white again, alone in the middle of the field, with a strong gust of wind heard in the background. and it ends there.

obviously you'll be on a limited budget, so you can't really create the effects as I stated them (especially the color to black and white) but that's my idea anyways ...

Share the video with us when you are done? :D

I really like this one, that's how I imagine this video too,I suppose.

That's my fav song right now and maybe its good that Coldplay don't have a clip for that-they would make wrong one, I think.

i am glad i found this because i figured i would do a music video to this as well but i was picturing it more of a band thing rather than one guy singing it by himself.... i always thought of starting off with this guy (i need to think of the story of this guy) but somehow always inserting the band behind him or on the tv and during the chorus showing the band in an open field, but i cant think of what the story would be and how it would apply to the video...help would be great
