Baby hedgehogs saved by the milk of human kindness

 

 

 

They are the abandoned babies no one would like to cuddle.

 

 

 

After being left to fend for themselves for six days, these six baby hedgehogs are lucky to be alive.

Each the size of a 50p piece, they were found in a compost heap in Maidenhead, Berkshire. When their mother took fright, it was left to staff at the Tiggywinkles animal hospital near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, to rear them.

They are being fed on a special diet of artificial milk shipped all the way from America.

Les Stocker, 57, who runs the hospital, said: "They would have been lucky to survive more than 24 hours, they would probably have been eaten by a cat, fox or even another hedgehog. "We now hope to release them into a garden in the next few months."

Bless them, they look like little scrubbing brushes!!

they'd be fine. when they're first born they're teeny & pink with really soft white bristles. suppose then you'd say they look ore like the end of a toothbrush!!!!

Oh man, they look so adorable .. although, they remind me of those spiky shell things from Super Mario
