I've just returned from seeing Bauhaus and Nine Inch Nails and the show reaffirmed my idea that a collaboration between Coldplay and Trent Reznor as producer could be amazing. I would love to hear the guys fold in some of that edginess and raw sound they had with the first two albums along with Trent's unbelievable driving electronic grooves. Just a thought...I know that whatever they have planned it's going to blow us away!!!

im thinking their next album will be more experimental and dark than any of their other albums. im hoping for an album that will best AROBTTH, but thats not going to be easy. still i thinking the 4th is going to be better than X&Y

I really like NIN. My friend went and saw them last week. She said it was amazing.

 

I've never thought about it, but that would be interesting I suppose.

I miss Parachutes like songs.

i love all thier albums but 1st is still my fav.yeah i like low and white shadows but i don't want their next was all in that direction.

i completely agree.

i would love to see some interesting instrumental pieces into it...involving weird,different guitar pieces...a strong beat....and chris's lyrics pulled into it somehow...but the instruments kind of over riding anything else

I'd love to see them go through with the atonal guitar and bas distortion they were experimenting with during soundchecks. I think that would be an amazing direction for them to take.

 

Also, I'd love to see them expand instrumentally. Like throwing some random auxillary percussion in there (They used ALOT in Sleeping Sun). And maybe using some brass? Alot of my very favorite artists (Radiohead, Sufjan Stevens, Sigur ros) use brass in some of their songs (With Sufjan, almost all) and I find that I enjoy it alot and it really adds alot.

 

I think some electronic experimentations would also be a good thing as well.

 

But all-in-all, I just want to see a return to their more alternative roots. Not to say that I want another Rush of Blood or Parachutes, just a more Alt album. X&Y was much more rock and, don't get me wrong, had some very good songs on it, but I don't think Coldplay is really designed to be a rock band.

 

I just want something different. Very different. If it's different, then it'll most likely blow everything else out of the water.

It really WOULD be jazz!!! Im grade 6 in jazz clarinet!!! this would be so cool, a different instrumental version of some of their songs....woodwind style! :cool: :laugh3:

Oh Yeah. Proper Coldplay jazz! lol I used to be about grade 6 on sax but not played it in a while. Never sat the exam but was doing the work!
