Don't Panic verse effect (Johnny's guitar not Chris')

Featured Replies

It stands out more on the live versions, but you can still hear it on the studio version. It's a sort of "wah" kind of sound. What I'm looking for is the type of effect/pedal that he used and what the notes are for that effect.

yeah i can hear it to. i think it could be phaser. i have an DigiTech RP80 effects pedal and when i turn the phaser on i get a slightly crunchier tone and a sort of "swooping effect". it sound very similiar to the song.

hope that helps :)

ill have to listen to it. but it might be the tremolo bar or a wah wah pedal. the only thing is is that jonny doesnt use a tremolo bar live sooo..check out the jonny's pedal board thread

i have his exact rig. its just his DL4 on the Sweep Delay setting. end of it i dont want any noobs posting after me telling me im wrong.

What are the notes for the effect?

didn't jony used to have a rotovibe also? I think if you look to the video shiver you would see it.

he plays for the main part standard tuning

e| 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 5 5 5

B| 10 10 10 10 12 12 13 13 5 5 5

and no its deff not a wah lol. like i said its either his DL4 or his TR-2. those are the only ways you can get that sound out of the pedals he has.

That's the chorus, not the verse.

i don't know why you don't find this tab? Just google dont panic tab and voila.

I woudl advice http://www.911tabs.Com very good tab site as i takes many tab sites together. Or for guitarpro tabs of coldplay or visit http://www.jonny buckland.tk

NEVER GO TO 911CRAP.COM OR ULTAMITEWRONGTABS.COM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111!@ONEONE!! buy the damn book for gods sakes all the online tabs are completely wrong. I dont care how good you are you cant tell by ear exactly what a guy is playing. but yea give me a bit and ill upload the book for you....

well i have some books of them . And i must say they aren't completly wright. Those ending things on politic that jon plays were wrong.

The point is get 4tabs of the same song on the net and pick some parts that sound best for you out of it. Thats what i do even if I have that song in the book.

911tabs has some correct tabs, plus some of the songs in all the different books can be wrong as well.

the live 2003 version book of politik is not wrong.

I cant say for that book as i don't have it . It would be nice to upload it. I'm searching still for one i love tabs(the ending solo of jonny)

I have all 4. Parachutes (Guitar version) AROBTTH (guitar version) Live 2003 (Guitar version) and X&Y (Guitar version). Ill try and find time soon to scan what i can and ill post a link here when i do it.
