Skizzenbuch Unterwegs

Featured Replies

does anybody own this book?

mhh ... it only exists in german though...

well, it is a book about indie musicians who drew pictures of places they've seen.

there are MANY bands featured.

for example Dirty Pretty Things, Keane, Kaiser Chiefs, Oasis, Nada Surf, The Used, Feeder, Athlete, Interpol, Franz Ferdinand, Muse, Snow Patrol, Travis and of course COLDPLAY!

i read that there's a drawing by Guy in it... which shows him getting lost in the Centre Pompidou when he was a little kid.

it was released like 19 days ago O.o

I NEED TO HAVE THIS BOOK, but 20 € is a bit too much...

do they have a picture of guy's drawing on the internet?

nope :( unfortunatley no

No problem, ladies and gentlemen :P

I just checked if my local bookstore has it and they do - I'm gonna buy it on Monday and scan Guy's painting right away :D

^ yeeahaaaaa...

what about some other scans? :wink3:

Haha, no problem at all, tell me the other artists you're interested in and I'll scan them, too!

Oh that would be so great if you can scan it here. :)

19,90€ for this book? What a cheek!

Yeah I wouldn't pay the 20 euros either, but I have a book coupon for 20 euros, so I'm gonna use it for this one :D

^ lucky you! :nice:

I went to my bookstore today, they didn't have it but I ordered it and will scan it on Wednesday :D

Ja, woher weißt du das?! :stunned:

Alright, I bought the book today! I haven't looked through all the drawings yet, but I'll do so tomorrow and tell you which other artists did a great job ;)

Guy's drawing is.. well.. if you expected an amazing piece of art, a masterpiece, something excellent, then you'll be disappointed ;) But it's kinda "cute", I guess - very simple, and the story that goes along with is sweet as well!

(That's the best scan I managed, the book doesn't allow any scans without the shadows in the middle - I'll try to do it a little better the next days)

Guy's story behind his artwork:

I was only eight years old when I visited the Museum Centre Pompidou in Paris and got lost. The Centre is a huge, dodgy building in which you can lose your way easily over and over again. However, I suddenly found myself on its roof. This was a scaring experience, because in addition, the door behind me got closed and I couldn't open it anymore. Pure horror!

I still remember how the door behind me got locked and I was stuck. Fortunately someone has followed me and brought me downstairs again. I can't remember anything else that happened that day, not even what my mother said to me. I solely remember that I was scared to death and felt very lonely in these short moments. I seriously thought that I'd have to die on the roof of the Centre Pompidou in Paris...

Awww its so cute!!

I went to that place when I visited Paris last November, I can see how Guy feels....It is a scary place! There's esculators going up the side of the building and me and my friends got confused as to which level the exhibition we were meant to be seeing, was on! We went up the esculator 4 times :embarassed:

and went on the roof too!

here was a photo I took on the top of the roof:

Thanks for the scan! Cute story...I had afew moments like that as a kid too.

And thanks for the pics... that place does look scary... that sort of style is basically the reason I didn't go any further in architecture!

Thanks for the scans! :) I also visited this big building when I was in Paris for the first time. It's really a scary place, especially the big escalators... :D

Thanks a lot for all of the pics! The books sounds very interesting.. but the museum looks scary and very confusing :uhoh:
