Digital Camera Help

Featured Replies

We have just got back from holiday. We went to the canary islands where it is cheap for electrical goods. My dad went with the intention of buying a Casio Exlim camera preferebly the latest one. We went to buy one as it worked out at about £116! He was just about to buy the camera when he asked if there was any similar cameras.

The guy in the shop gave my dad a 'euro cyber x-3312' made by hitachi. The guy basically wowed my dad saying it has a 3' screen, 12 mega pixel? and 8X digital zoom.

I think my dad has been ripped off as he paid 30 euros more.

On the camera it says 12 mega pixels but in black it says maximum effective 3.1 megapixel. What does this mean is it 12 or 3.1?

I have realised it has no optical zoom explaning why the zooms crap.

I also want to know what a 3.1 mega pixels CMOS sensor is and up to 12 mega pixels Interpolated resolution.

All i want to know is has he been ripped off and we could just sell this camera or is it actuall better than our old kodak 3.1 mega pixel with 3x optical zoom.

Anyway what a salesman i can say shame my dad fell for it.

Ingore Digital Zoom, it's Optical Zoom you want.

Yep, sounds like your dad got ripped off.
