Ted
An ebow is a great little piece of kit that sends out an em pulse to vibrate the string so you get endless sustain. I used to have one and they are great! He also uses it in Warning Sign at Glastonbury and Amsterdam on Live 2003.
Marky
He uses a combination of an e-bow with a slide. A slide is just used to move from fret to fret without having to strike the string more than once. E-bow works using some sort of magnetic field, i'm not too informed about them, but that's why the internet is so great : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/EBow
Guest REManic
Hmmm..I see...I already knew about the e-bow stuff because of REM's E-bow the Letter...is that device too pricey??
Trouble87
they are pretty pricey, they run from 50-90 US Dollars, but if you get one they are fun to play with!

Petra_coldplay
You can buy good electric guitars for not too much money :) Well you don't have euro's but you can look how much it in usd is or in other things. But we can get for example les pauls for 200 till 300 euro :) New. So if you work, a short time and you have a good electric guitar :)
