Politik Revisited!

Featured Replies

howdy folks new member here! :D

being trying to play Politik on the piano for a while. Im using the AROBTTH PVG Book and im getting lost especially on the last bit the "Give me love over.." etc

ok so the notes on the sheet are for the right hand:

C F A(flat)

D F B(flat)

C E(flat) A(flat)

E(flat A(flat) B(flat)

E(Flat) G B(Flat)

The above notes are for the "Give me love over this" bit. now when that finishes there are no more notes in the book! :shocked2: what notes do you play for the instrumental part? i think the book is suggesting repeating the same notes but if you play that with the song it doesnt sound right at all. I understand that these books are a guide for eager beginners but if someone could illustrate the proper notes that would be great!

Any help would be appreciated as i love this song very much! :)

Cheers

Paul

Same thing you just bring the left hand one octave up and you throw the middle note in there as well for the left hand.

And during the solo the right hand doesn't play any of the middle notes. Actually the right hand doesn't play the middle notes at all.

I have the A rush of blood to the head piano/vocial and guitar book and I can play politik and it sound really good, the same.......am I missing something here :confused:

:computer: :uhoh: :argue: :idea2: :furious3: :singer: :smoking: :rolleyes3:

just thought it was a good time for some smilies. :D

but yea politik is cool lol...

are you talking about the fast powerful ending he starts after the Love over part? Right before the song ends? If so I just use the same chords he uses in the slow "Love over this.." except with a faster tempo, and it sounds fine to me...

I think I'm with macpac here, don't you just play single notes with the left and chords with the right :\

and Trouble87 ;)

I play the same chords on both hands, right on the treble cleff notes, and the left on the bass cleft. I play it like this:

C - F - Ab 8 times then -->

Db - F - Ab 8 times then -->

Eb - Bb - C 8 times then -->

Eb - Ab - Bb 8 times then -->

Eb - G - Bb 4 times, then back to the first chord.

Hold on, let me post a real quick video of how it looks..

OK, so the first chord is (C, F, Ab) right? F would be the middle note because it's in between C and Ab. This is just how I do it, anyways.

And the left hand is hard to explain. During the solo it plays 2 octaves down from the right hand. For the first chord it's just straight F notes all the way through. Second chord it's C# and F. Third chord it's D# and Ab (above the D#). Fourth chord it's D# and A#, and then halfway through that switch the A# to straight G notes.

Sorry if I explained it poorly, but I assure you it sounds correct when you play it.
