NHL Hockey 2006-2007 Season

Featured Replies

So opening night's tonight:

Buffalo vs. Carolina

Ottawa vs. Toronto

Dallas vs. Colorado

I'm pumped for this year, of course. I think it's gonna be a good one now that everyone's adjusted to the rules changes. :)

even after some departures (Tanguay, Blake), i'm expecting a good season. after all our team is full of talents and we had a pretty good pre-season (5-1-0)

GO GO AVS!

NHL scores Google as video partner

NHL.com Nov 1, 2006, 2:06 PM EST

NEW YORK -- NHL Interactive Cyber Enterprises (ICE), the digital arm of the National Hockey League (NHL), today announced a multi-year deal to provide NHL video content to Google Video. The NHL will provide in-season full-length games on delay to Google Video at http://video.google.com/nhl.html. Google also will receive select NHL classic games.

In addition to the game content, the NHL also will work with Google to allow certain NHL themed user-generated content on http://video.google.com/nhl.html. This is the first time Google Video has worked with a major professional sports league in such a manner.

To celebrate its 89th season and this increased access to video content, the NHL will be offering its content for free -- without ads -- for the first two weeks of November.

"When web users are searching for diverse video content, Google Video is the first place they go, just as NHL.com is the first place hockey fans go when they want NHL video," said Keith Ritter, President of NHL ICE. "The combination of our content and Google's massive reach is a terrific pairing, and we're excited to add fan-generated content to the mix."

it won't be for free forever, presumably... only in first 2 weeks, but till then: 2 weeks NHL for free! woohoo!

Believe!!! :D

im an oiler for life! hopefully they can have a decent playoff run this year... although im realistic and know the finals isnt a likely result

Hockey sucks now. It's become hockey lite since all the new dumb rules. Crap looks like pond hockey...

Isn't it better than all those 2-1 clutch and grab hockey games?

Not in a million... You cant hit anyone anymore. Its all skate and shoot. Its hockey for wusses. Defensemen are basicly useless now. So much has been thrown away that made hockey hockey.

Last time I checked hockey was about scoring goals and winning. Not just about players who have no skill holding up those who actually do have skill. And come on, there is still plenty of hitting, that is a lame excuse. Fighting may be down but thats because there is no room on the roster for a player who can skate as good as my grandmother and can throw bunches, nothing more.

Thank goodness the NHL isn't reigned by the trap like the old NHL was. Now we get a fast exciting team like Buffalo leading the league instead of the old and slow Devils.
