Chris Martin vs. Thom Yorke

Featured Replies

almost all, even tthough Chris is God and Thom only human

Thom is very close to be one the best some time

Haha. Sometime. Yeah... Thom's been making music when Chris was probably doing hsi homework or whatever... lol. And yeah, now Chris is a god (or has he always been?..) and Thom still has to work at himself to reach the top of perfection, yeah.

Thank you all for your thoughtful input. I'd like to qualify and articulate a bit if the syntax of my post doesn't relay my feelings properly. I specifically said "a dichotomy" as opposed to "the dichotomy." When comparing any two things, there are infinitely many dichotomies that one can come up with. Comparison is a very popular and valid tool that we use to talk about things. Much of language is based on opposites. We call something pretty and then call something ugly. We call someone skinny and then call someone fat. I think that the systems of opposites in language can often be a limitation. Nonetheless, it is a powerful comment on the state of humanity. But anyway, I'm not so thoughtless as to say that Radiohead's and Thom's lyrics are merely about hopelessness, and Coldplay's lyrics are merely about hope. Of course, both bands (and Thom) explore many of the same things. I simply understand that regarding some of my personal issues, I have two conflicting feelings that make me tend to gravitate to one artist when I'm feeling one way and to another artist when I'm feeling another way. I just wanted to know if anybody else felt similarly. Again, thanks for all your input. I really appreciate it. :)

Allright the words that chris is hotter blablabla is true :)

But also on musical area, I prefer Chris. The music Coldplay makes i think is for me nicer to listen to. Radiohead and Thom Yorke are vague, the music. And well sometimes i listen to some songs and they sound allright but i prefer coldplay.

About the lyrics. The lyrics of Radiohead (Thom Yorke) are very very dark. In my opinion. But they are good ! They write about things in life just like Chris and Coldplay does.

But I prefer Chris :)

Thom is a good artist too :) Not a one day fly you know, it's a real artist and i'm glad he exists !

thom would be a hell of a lot better vocalist if you could actually understand what he's saying. his lyrics may be artistic and thoughtful but what good is that if you can't even understand them without reading the lyrics. it's so annoying. muse is a band that is similar to radiohead in style, and i can hear matt's words just fine. thom should take notes.

i still love radiohead, thom wins as a better lyricist and chris as better singer.
