Has anyone ever come accross bands on myspace that they label in a particular genre that you just don't agree with?

 

For example I wouldn't consider Coldplay rock, I could definitely see alternative, pop, and maybe even acoustic but not rock.

 

Do you know of any bands like this on myspace?

Alternative, definitely, but pop they're too good to be labeled under that!

I don't care what any band is labeled under so much... I just care if they're good or not.

Labels are different things to different people.

 

Some people would shoot themselves in the crotch before they'd accept Coldplay as a "rock" band. But I think Coldplay fits into that along with the alternative label, especially given the the slightly edgier sound on X&Y.

 

So, if a band wants to call itself Techno/Alternative/Country, more power to them.

I tend to ignore the labeling, it's stupid!

They play that song at WVU basketball games all the time.
