December 19, 200619 yr Has anyone ever come accross bands on myspace that they label in a particular genre that you just don't agree with? For example I wouldn't consider Coldplay rock, I could definitely see alternative, pop, and maybe even acoustic but not rock. Do you know of any bands like this on myspace?

December 19, 200619 yr Labels are different things to different people. Some people would shoot themselves in the crotch before they'd accept Coldplay as a "rock" band. But I think Coldplay fits into that along with the alternative label, especially given the the slightly edgier sound on X&Y. So, if a band wants to call itself Techno/Alternative/Country, more power to them.
