Usually people just get together with friends and family and have a barbeque or something. Some people go to the shore, or go to a parade. At night they have big fireworks, and sometimes we go downtown to see them.

At night they have big fireworks, and sometimes we go downtown to see them. i was just wondering how americans celebatre their national day. we have fireworks as well and traditional music and thats it basically. there isnt much happening on a national day in switzerland but i thought there'd be a big celebration in the us. so what kind of parades are there?
July 4, 200718 yr Just floats and singing and dancing and stuff like that. Lots of choirs come out and sing too.
July 4, 200718 yr Hehe yeah. Usually they are local bands and groups. But at night they usually have a big performer. I think last year or the year before was Elton John. This year it's Patti LaBelle and some other group.
