Favorite part of the "How We Saw the World" footage?

Featured Replies

Hey guys, we all know how awesome the Toronto DVD could have been, since im sure most of us have seen the footage via the Multimedia forum, so I ask you:

What is your favorite part of the toronto concert? And i mean anything, like camera angles, add-ins of lyrics, crowd moments, anything.

Personally, I like the bridge of Politik, where Chris welcomes everyone and then goes into the end of the song, singingthe lyrics from the piano-only part of the Politik from AROBTTH.

Then, I like the second verse of "Yellow", with the different notes.... Then I like the way Chris and Johnny sing "We dont wanna be mad trapped! We dont wanna be shrink-wrapped!" In "How you see the world"....

My favorite camera shots happen between 29:45 and 30:00, the chorus of "What if" when Chris tells everyone to turn on their cell phones, and you see the crowd from their point of view, the sea of the crowd, illuminatued by cellphone backlights... then when they show Chris at the Piano and Johnny by his side, with the yellow lights streaming out around the piano, towards the crowd... just amazing.

Then I like the beginning of "Swallowed in the Sea", with Chris just singing acapella. And who cant like the end chorus of "Fix You"? All the voices are clear, and the crowd is amazing for the end lines.

Thats my $.02, anyone else?

When Chris says, "Let's see those lights come on!"

The entire Fix You song.

Actually, eff it, the entire concert was my favorite part.

god gave you style and let you higher

god gave you the music of the arcade fire

I really enjoyed Politik and Don't Panic.

I love the whole thing, esp. the acoustic set.

You can see my best firend and I in a couple of audience shots too...front row centre!!! You gotta love that!!:D

I loved being able to see Will's energy on the drums - look how high he lefts his left arm before hitting the snare!

The Guy poster moment during acoustic set.

Chris forgetting Til Kingdom Come and then changing guitars during Ring Of Fire.

Johnny getting groovy during Square One when he isn't playing, right hand in mid-air, very cool.

Seeing backstage after the show - why did they turn the cameras off!!! Surely they should have followed them and started interviewing them!!! Maybe a bit selfish of me I suppose...

The Richard Ashcroft compliments and huge round of applause for him.

Johnny's Don't Panic solo.

Guy with the shaker during How You See The World.

Will at end of What If - did he actually throw the stick in the air I wonder.

Ah yes that reminds me... At the end of "How you see the world" the camera switches to a shot from right behind Guy, and a camera flash from the audience shows us a sillouette of him, since the stage lights blacked out. Soo cool.

  • 2 weeks later...

During "Square One", right at the beginning, the panning camera and all the cameras flashing... amazing shot.

The whole gig was great...

But I really, really liked

->Don't Panic, when Jonny sings alone

->the beginning of What If is great!

->When Chris goes in the crowd, and sings.

-> the countdown while the beginning of Square One is playing.. and when it comes to 0:00, all's exploding...

->Politik/AROBTTH

-> The end of Clocks when Chris makes it speeding up each time he makes the countdown.

The start of what if!!!! away... a great sound...

PS: I have a critical for this gig. Its sound is horrible, it's suck!!!.

THanks :D

PS2: those sounds got break my loud speakers.... ¬¬ Hate that!

The whole thing just brought back so many memories.

The ending though when EVERYONE was sining Fix You was pretty insane it really shows how much Toronto LOVES Coldplay.

I don't know if they showed in the in the video but at the actual concert Chris made some really nice comments about Toronto.

how did you know those comment?

how did you know those comment?

I was at the concert.

Loved the whole thing, and still cant understand why it is not being released as a DVD. It did bring back so many memories.

My favourites include:

- Chris's welcoming during Politik

- The behind spotlight beamed on Chris on piano during the start of Politik

- The balloons falling during Yellow, brings back lots of memories

- Chris joining Will on piano during Trouble

- Chris' first mistake of the night during Til Kingdom Come, and offering 50 cents for the mistake

But seriously, the whole thing is awesome. I have watched it heaps of times now, love it.

Ye I got to punch one of those balloons on the 23rd concert. I feel blessed :D

it was on just now on channel 4 in the UK, but they only showed certain songs, about half of them actually. Still, my favourite part was during politik, where chris lets the band play for a bit longer before hes says: "thursday, march 23rd, 2006...". I find that bit... well, beautiful :) .

And i think how he sung "give me love over" during the last power really unleashes the full potential of the song.

My friend graded the concert a B, or 7 outa 10 (or whatever)... and he's a "big" coldplay fan. I cant see how it was bad in anyway, in fact i think its one of their best concerts ever.

The only reason i can see for it being 'not as good' as some of their other concerts was just the size of the venue.

Coldplay is such an energy-driven band, and even with the amount of energy that they put out, some of it can be lost because of how big the arena is. Im not saying that there wasnt enough energy, im just saying that coldplay's amount of energy, combined with the size of the arena make it hard to capture on film.

Having said that, I dont believe it for a second. It was an awesome concert, full of every ounce of energy that Coldplay could muster.
