This is the dramatic moment when a leopard attacked a man during a rampage in an Indian town.

The big cat leapt out at a passer-by and sank its jaws into his arm in Nashik in western India after escaping from a nearby nature park.

Forest department sources said that the leopard had killed chickens and even stalked into a house before the animal started prowling the streets.

It was finally caught by forest rangers and taken back to its home.

The victim was being treated in hospital.
