It's always a touching moment when young sweethearts walk up the aisle.

But when they’re still in primary school, it might be asked whether they are rushing things a little.

Seven-year-olds Rebecca Bartock and Jack Poyner exchanged vows in traditional style as part of a school project on the stages of life.

The bride wore full dress, veil and tiara and was attended by three bridesmaids.

The suited, booted and button-holed groom was flanked by a best man.

Towering over them, vicar Andrew Baldock conducted the ceremony at All Hallows Church in Cheadle, Cheshire, in front of 100 relatives, teachers and fellow pupils.

The nuptials ended with confetti and tearful mothers, and a reception with cakes and lemonade was held at Ladybridge Primary.

Teacher Gillian Lanzara said: "They were a natural choice. Jack has declared his love for Rebecca many times already."
