E-Piano

Featured Replies

What do you think about E-Pianos?

Why i am asking you...:

we have a piano at home, but i want to play some music with my mates, so i have to transport the piano. this does not work, so i need a smaller and not so heavy one.

also because in about 2 years i will leave home and move away to study, so i need an own piano. but for a real one i do not have enough money and space in my future apartment.

So, what are your experiences with E-Pianos?

(I tried one at my school for a second and it sounded nice.)

Whats your budget? Make sure to get something with weighted keys

600-700€. just want to have a transportable piano. good sound, but i do not need many functions

  • 2 weeks later...

wow...I hope someone can help you...because, actually, I'm looking for one too...

I've never played piano, but have played electric guitar for the past 6 years....

to widen my musical capability...I'm searching for a e-piano now.

What are weighed keys??

(sorry, I'm really not in to the technical details yet)

weighted keys allow for dynamics, like if you hit them softly, it'll play softer, and harder - louder. it's also good to build up finger strength, because if you play on something without weighted keys for a while and go back to like a real piano, it'll seem really heavy

i have a real piano and an electric piano to play for shows and to play at night with headphones and such. They're great, you definatly need weighted keys, because non weighted keys suck. Also, with electric pianos you can get midi cables to hook them into your computer so you can write music. You should try to figure out which company you think would be the best... for example, coldplay uses a yamaha i think...

Aww i need one... The only keyboard i have is a 'non-weighted' one, and the piano setting doesn't even sound like a piano!

I'll save up, but since i don't play it atm, people i know will be giving me odd looks
