in the most live version of clocks chris is playing sth different before he plays the chorus an octave higher

sounds like he plays the last part of chorus backwards. i tried this at home but it did not exactly sound like that.

 

any ideas?

i think that gotitans guy on youtube on his 'how to play clocks' vid he played some of it backwards so maybe that might help :)

Um...Ithink I might know what you are talking about.

 

Here is how I play it for the last chord:

 

(b=Flat)

 

C, Ab, F

C, Ab, F

F#, F

 

Then do the next 2 again chords.

 

And here is what I think you mean:

 

C, Ab, F

C, Ab, F

F, Bb, Db

 

Then in to the next chords:

 

Ab, G, Eb

Ab, G, Eb

Ab, G

Ab, G, Db

Ab, G, Db

Ab, G

Ab, G, Db

Ab, G, Db

Ab, G

Ab, G, C

Ab, G, C

also thanks to all the other posts, but to be honest i could not find this variation in the song. he plays clocks just backwards, as far as is see.

hey now can anyone tell me how exactly does chris play live?? does he play the riff with both hands? and while the second riff what does he play with the other hand??

i think he plays the riff with both hands and in the second riff he plays the left hand the normal way.

I checked in the live 2003 and I'm not sure but I think he plays with the left hand an Eb 1 8va below the one of the riff as he plays the normal Eb and I guess he does the same with the Db and the C
