"Fall, Fell, Fallen:

Coffe, Memories, She and I",

IMG_1430-full.jpg the very first movie tribute of this kind...

These days, the young and talented Croatian movie director/photographer Kristijan Janton is finishing his big movie project "Fall, Fell, Fallen" subtitled "Coffee, Memories, She and I", a controversial urban drama written by Nika Ostoic who got her first film award nominee as a 14-year-old at one of the Croatian film fests, for the art-film "Crazy for..." made together with her cousine Korana Kovacevic Gjalski (photographer and writer ).

ja11-copy-large.jpg«We wanted to make a movie, but not any kind of movie. We wanted to make something special, different, something not seen before - says Janton. We spent a long time thinking, and then we came across the idea to make a movie about how celebrities influence their fans, how the idols effect their fans' everyday life. Besides of our love for film making, at the same time this project is our tribute to the two greatest bands ever: Coldplay and Oasis. This is not a classical fan tribute in which we present the greatness of both bands. In this movie we show the reality bare naked - how music and lyrics can actually obsess someone's mind.

The story takes place in Zagreb, the capital of small Mediterranean country - Croatia and takes the viewers on an amasing journey through the mind of a controversial 25-year-old guy with no much perspective in life, under strong influence of two completly different idols; Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin and notorious brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher from Oasis. Obsessed with a girl he can't have and contoreted by failure in life in general, he builds imaginary world of Coldplay versus Oasis in his head. He sees Gallaghers as a vicious version of himself and boosts Martin as his guardian angel.

«This is the story about love, friendship, loss, hate, growing up, ups and downs, everyday life of a really complicated 25-year-old guy - adds Ostoic - Through his mind we try to present the eternal rivarly between Oasis and Coldplay. In every hard situation he hesitates and asks himself: what would Chris do? What would Gallaghers do? We didn't want to use classical angel and devil as his conscience – in our film it’s Chris and the Gallagher brothers. Every other motive is also music inspired. Even the names are metaphorical. Well, you’ll see for yourself. We believe it’ll be great.

Janton says he’s doing this film for his own satisfactory: I don’t really care if people will like it or not. I'm not making it for money. This movie is not only hommage to Coldplay and Oasis, it’s also a my personal tribute to growing up in a city where everything seems so despairing. It's about that point in life when everyone feels aimless. It’s something I simply had to do, the same as Nika. It's our goodbye to teen years, our diary of childish mistakes and broken hearts. We owe it to ourselves. And of course, this is our way of saying thank you to the great music artists who inspire us each day. We had a few hard times during this project – first, problems with production, then we had to replace the cast, change the whole concept a few times…but here we are, dealing with post production. Hopefully it’ll be out this autumn.

It surely seems that young Janton knows what it takes to shake up the show business world: intriguing story, lots of great music and yet unknown but beautiful faces on the screen: Mario Veljacha, Irena Fabian, Marina Furlan, Nika Ostoic, Filip Oreshkovic, Martina Vulic and more.

Putting Kristijan Janton's controversial and innovative sense of drama together with Nika Ostoic's creative writing skills will probably result with "Fall, Fell, Fallen" being something what we'll keep talking about for a long time...
