All washed up: former playboys Kurt and Jack hang out at the beach

They were Hollywood hot property in their prime, but Jack Nicholson and Kurt Russell have both proved that their days of being lusted after are over.

They may have been soaking up the sun in different parts of the globe - The Departed star took to the sand during a visit to St Tropez, while Russell, 56, was holidaying with his long term partner Goldie Hawn in Greece - but both sported a remarkably similar, not to mention undesirable, looks.

Each wore equally bright board shorts, but it was their rather oversized paunches that really caught the attention of onlookers.

Russell, once a sort after action star who made his break in Escape From New York, looked rather washed up as he took to the water with 61-year-old Hawn.

Still, the couple appeared to enjoy their sun soaked holiday, and spent hours aboard a luxury boat before taking a romantic stroll along the coast line.

Nicholson, who has briefly stepped away from Hollywood for an extended holiday in France, recently rang in his 70th birthday with a star-studded party, attended by George Clooney, Diane Keaton and his costar in The Departed, Leonardo DiCaprio.

A select list of a mere 600 of his closest celebrity friends were on hand to sip 1,000 bottles of Cristal champagne served by 70 scantily-attired waitresses - one for every licentious year of his life.

A 'Joker Jack' lookalike, dressed as the star's character in Batman, entertained the A-list guests and celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck created a 7ft-high birthday cake in the actor's honour.

 

Age - and extra pounds - haven't completely curbed his famous womanising ways.

 

He recently admitted: "I'm still playing the field a little, though not nearly as much as some people think."
